Chumvi's biggest secret was his son, Kovu. Kovu didn't know of course. Chumvi would secretly watch over Kovu. When Kovu would be wandering the Outlands by himself, Chumvi would appear and talk to him. Never once did Chumvi ever call Kovu "son". Chumvi didn't want Zira to know that he was alive. Chumvi highly disagreed with Zira's training. Chumvi was the only joy in cub Kovu's life. Kovu was no killer and thankfully never had to be. To Kovu, the lion was a mysterious lion. Chumvi told him to call him "Rogue" even though Chumvi did belong to a Pride. The less Kovu knew...the better. Chumvi knew Kovu would finally find happiness one day. Chumvi even played a role in making sure Kovu would never be able to kill Simba. Chumvi would tell Kovu the truth one day...when the trouble was over.
