Shani ("adventure") is the eldest of Kiara and Kovu's three cubs, but her parents decided to choose her brother Chaka to be the future leader of the pride. She is a bit jealous to her brother, and irritated because he's so full of himself. She knows she's strong and clever enough to be the leader but her parents can't see that.
Chaka ("blazing sun") is the second-born cub and the only son of Kiara and Kovu. As a cub he's very proud and full of himself - he doesn't get along well with his big sister Shani. However, he loves his family and wants to show them how brave and strong he is.
As an adult he's very lazy (a typical male lion) and still full of himself. His parents begin to worry about his and the pride's future.
Nama ("pliable") is the youngest of Kiara and Kovu's triplets. She's almost like a dark-furred Nala with an Outsider nose. But her personality is different...
Even as a cub she's very calm, quiet and wise. She's very understanding and never argues with anyone. She enjoys listening to stories.
Giza ("dark") is Nuka and Dotty's son and only child. He was born some time after his father's death. As a cub, Giza is pretty shy and quiet but playful. He has inherited his father's ability to make himself look silly. As an adult, he is still quiet but more self-confident. Girls adore him - and he often thinks he's got his charm from his father.
Jana ("healthy child"/"yesterday") is Vitani and Kopa's first-born daughter. She is adventurous and energetic but also very sweet and kind (especially in her parents' presence). Her younger twin sister Kali often calls her "perfect little princess".
Kali ("fierce", "hot", "strong") is the youngest of Vitani and Kopa's two daughters. She is clever and sly and a true troublemaker. She has some kind of a crush on her cousin and best friend Giza, but he seems not to notice that.
