The End (short poem)

The End.

From run, to walk, to strain.
From the confusing mists of shock to the rending burden of fault. And the cruel sun, burning, drawing a life, once so pure.
The tears of remorse, biting the tired flesh.
Hate climbs inside, it swells… all alone, with only one to hate.
From hate to weary toil. All alone.
A long road, to the very end. To nowhere. Eyes and mind unclear, soul heavy with hurt.
Too hard to lift anymore. Only one end now, one deserved.
Here, the end arrives.
One last sweet essence, untouched by blame, before he closed their fate:
Love, wonder, pride.

Whoa, heavy.
Okay folks. So I was moved to write again by TLK!
I wanted to at least contribute something to this lovely forum, and kind of affirm to myself at least my love for TLK. There is lots of inspiration to be had from therein.
This poem is the first one I’ve written in years, so I am super, super rusty! I enjoyed writing again though, short sweet poem length is probably all I can handle at the minute!

As may have been guessed, it is Simba running away, trudging across the torched land, and eventually giving up the ghost. Thankfully we know how it ends. :tobeking:
