Sorry to those who have been loyal readers to my story but things have been getting pretty full on my plate here as of late so that's why I haven't posted a new chapter until now. I am starting to write again so I'll try to have a chapter up every week at some point. Again I can't express how sorry I am for not posting in so long. :(

Chapter 10: Muda mrefu wa kusubiri (A Long Time Waiting)

Tojo looked at Kopa unsure if this lion was telling the truth for all he knew they could be rogue lions trying to take over his pride. He walked around Kopa and the other lion that he was with studying them both but mainly watching for any attempt to attack him. Suddenly his three birds flew around Kopa a few times before landing in his mane and settled in. Tojo looked at Kopa very carefully before getting a bright and excited look on his face “Well I’ll be a monkey’s uncle it really is you Kopa by the great kings I thought you had died like everyone else thought.” Tojo hugged Kopa close laughing but with tears in his eyes. This was something wonderful that he would love to tell his old friend Simba about it would be hard for him to believe but once he saw it the joy would be overwhelming. Tojo gave a whistle and his birds flew back to him as he escorted Kopa and his friend further into the pride “So Kopa who’s your friend that you brought with you?” Tojo looked back as they neared the den for his pride.

“Oh sorry Tojo this is my brother Toko he’s from the pride that I was with up until recently, he’s a great friend and brother to have around even if we don’t always agree on some things.” Kopa chuckled looking back at Toko seeing the grumpy face he was being given hearing Tojo start to laugh and then Toko.
“That’s all well and good but you do know you still have a sibling to go home to right?”

“Yes I remember little Kiara but Toko is my brother in mind and spirit although with as long as I’ve been around him it feels like blood.” Kopa smiled back at Toko.

Once they were at the den Tojo had them all stop just outside and they sat in the soft grass, not long after a golden lion with a grey underbelly and paws and tail walked out of the den. “Toko this is my mate Siri, and Siri I’m sure that you remember Kopa Simba’s young cub that our daughter met a few times.” Siri looked Kopa up and down as tears started to come to her eyes as she ran up to Kopa and nuzzled against him. Siri put a paw around him and hugged him tight; she had been there for Nala soon after he had supposedly been killed. “Oh Kopa look at how big you’ve gotten and so handsome too, your parents will be so happy to see you not to mention Uzuri.” Siri smiled, she saw Kopa’s eyes light up when she said that Uzuri was still with them.

“Wow I haven’t seen her in so long is she around I really want to talk to her?” Kopa questioned looking around. He and Toko walked past the den seeing Siri and Tojo both smiling with the fact that Kopa was indeed alive and well. The tall grass felt soft on Kopa’s paws, it reminded him of the grass back at Pride Rock which he used to pounce on Zazu all the time. They soon saw a brown lioness with golden fur on her belly paws and tail running with some cubs, they were laughing and having a good time it seemed like such a care free life. Kopa’s eyes widened when he saw her and smiled cheekily when the cubs jumped on her and brought her to the ground begging for her to tell them another story from when she was their age. Toko couldn’t keep his eyes off of the lioness she was the most beautiful thing that he’d ever seen, but then again he never really left the pride until now. Kopa knew that this was definitely Uzuri the childhood friend he loved to play jokes on; slowly they walked up to her and heard the kids groan as she was telling her story.

“I’m sorry kids but this one isn’t very good but it’s all I have right now for you. Ah yes… so while we were playing on the rocks by the watering hole one of my good friends…”

“Vitani pushed you off the rock and into the watering hole right.” Kopa interrupted finishing the story, he could see Uzuri looking at him and then he gave his cheeky smile again and saw her eyes light up with tears of joy and sorrow.

“Kopa!? Kopa it really is you!” Uzuri ran up to Kopa bumping heads with him as they smacked paws in front then took a step forward and smacked the same paws from behind. They both started laughing and then looked seeing that both the cubs as well as Toko were thoroughly confused at what had just happened. Uzuri chuckled as she motioned the cubs over “Kids this is my old childhood friend Kopa he’s the prince of Pride Rock.” The cubs were a little weary of Kopa but once he gave them a reassuring smile they jumped at him asking him all sorts of questions.

“Hey now take it easy kids, this here is my brother Toko he’s the prince of the Burning Plains pride.” Kopa could see the obvious confusion in Uzuri’s face as she looked at Toko and then back at Kopa.

“Why don’t I tell them a story about an adventure that me and Kopa had while you two catch up.” Toko smile taking the cubs over to a rock as he hopped up on top of it and started telling the story of how he and Kopa outsmarted the leopard and making it sound way cooler than it needed to be.

Kopa rolled his eyes at the story as Uzuri took a seat next to him as they watched Toko tell his story to the cubs. “So a brother huh, what exactly happened to you and Kiara?”

“It’s…uh…well let’s just say that it’s a complex story that needs to be told and would be better told to your parents as well.” Kopa smiles cheekily eliciting a sigh from Uzuri.

“All right I can wait until Toko’s done with his story I guess.” Her mind flashed back to when she was pushed into the water like she was telling the cubs “I’ve still got to get Vitani back for pushing me into the water like that.”

Kopa dropped to his stomach laughing so hard he was starting to cry “Oh man I can’t believe it all these years and you still want to get HER back.” Kopa looked up seeing a confused look on her face. “Oh come on Uzuri do you really think Vitani would do that to her best friend.” Giving her his cheeky grin again watching as she thought about it before getting angry with him.

“OH IT WAS YOU!!” Uzuri yelled growling at Kopa “All this time I’ve been thinking of ways to get back at her and it was you that pushed me into the watering hole.” Uzuri quickly sat on top of Kopa making him cough but still laughing. Her cheeks were red and grinned as she drew her claws and dug them into his backside.

Kopa tried to get up but with Uzuri sitting on him it was impossible “Ok…ok I’m sorry OW I’m sorry.” Kopa yelped feeling Uzuri dig her claws in over and over. Toko walked over looking at both of them before Uzuri finally got off of Kopa. “Ok well that aside I think we should get with your parents and I can fill you all in on exactly what happened the day I died.” Kopa walked back towards the den followed by Uzuri and Toko as they met back with Tojo and Siri. Once they were all settled in he began to tell the story of how Zira attacked him to his memory loss and everything up till now. Their shock about the events was to say the least not surprising.

“Well that would certainly explain why you never came back but we are glad to have you back in our lives again Kopa make no mistake about it.” Seeing Kopa smile brought warm feelings to Tojo’s heart and got a good idea from it. “Kopa if you want you should head that way tomorrow there’s a lion that rules along with me since this land is so vast it makes keeping the peace a lot easier and I’m sure he’ll be very happy to see you.” Tojo smiled.

Ok so here is the next chapter Friends Forever to all those reading again I'm sorry for not getting back to this sooner. I do hope that you'll continue to read my chapters as I put them on here also please check the war of kings OC thread I made to see the new characters added in this chapter.

Chapter 11: (marafiki milele) Friends Forever

The sun rose on a clear day hitting the dew on the grassy plains making its light shine in all different directions. Kopa was woken up by the sound of Tojo’s blue birds chirping as they flew into the den and onto his mane. The loud chirping that they made waking him up as he slowly got up that night was one of the few that he hadn’t woken up in a cold sweat because of his nightmares. Kopa walked out of the den seeing the sun shining over the savannah, it brought back memories of the days when he was a cub and he would get up early in the morning and sit up atop Pride Rock with his father. Kopa decided to take Tojo’s advice and head towards the rising sun to see this supposed lion that he would know. The tall grass felt good on his fur as he watched the animals running through the plains but keeping an eye on him. It wasn’t long until he saw a lion that must have been the King of the other pride. The lion ahead of him he was a light gold with a light tan color as well only to be offset by his dark brown mane. The lion was sitting at one of the many watering holes in this part of the savannah getting a drink of water as Kopa started walking towards him. Once the lion caught Kopa’s scent he was instantly up and ready for a fight but once he saw Kopa he relaxed. Kopa looked at the lion and couldn’t place him he seemed so familiar but he couldn’t think of where or when he could’ve seen him. “Kopa is that you?” The Lion asked causing Kopa to give him a puzzled look, “Kopa it’s me Mheetu, your mothers little brother.”

Kopa’s eyes lit up with excitement at what the lion said, he could tell he was telling the truth but he couldn’t believe it the fact that he met both his father’s old friend and his uncle was amazing. Kopa ran up to Mheetu bumping their heads together. Kopa jumped around Mheetu his excitement couldn’t be contained at all, it was something wonderful to see his old friend and uncle who he had spent most of his time with until he left on his own to start his own pride. The air blew through his mane as he made a few more rounds before coming to an abrupt halt in front of Mheetu when he noticed tears in his uncles eyes “Mheetu why are you crying that’s not like you at all.” Kopa gave a concerned look but also a smile to try and cheer Mheetu up.

Mheetu used his paw to wipe the tears from his eyes, “It’s just that you’re back from the dead Kopa everyone thought Zira had killed you but yet here you stand before me.” Mheetu slowly walked around his nephew a few times giving him a slight nudge on his right shoulder. “Look at you, man you sure did grow up and from the looks you got stronger too. If only your mother could see you now I doubt she would know what to say or do except cry her eyes out.”

Kopa’s joy instantly turned to despair, looking down at the grass as it swayed in the wind he was getting closer and closer to getting home but it still seemed so far away. He also knew that proving to his parents that it was him would be hard and that the ascension of the throne would be called into question. Kopa dug his claws into the grass “I’m excited to go home but I’m not sure how things will go. The last thing that I want to do is to cause a rift between us all so soon after me returning home.”

Mheetu placed his paw on Kopa’s shoulder easing some of the burden that he was having “Kopa you’re reading too much into this. They’re our family Kopa they won’t care about anything other than the fact that you’re alive and with them again.” Mheetu kept his paw on his shoulder and stood next to Kopa putting him in a head lock and messing his mane up. “Besides you guys will be spending too much time catching up to cause something like that to happen trust me.” Once Kopa had wiggled his way out of the head lock he calmly fixed his mane while being stared at by Mheetu. They both burst out into laughter tears of joy and laughter flowed from Mheetu’s eyes. “Come on Kopa spend some time with me and my family.” Mheetu motioned in the direction he’d come from his three birds flying ahead of him.

Kopa was taken aback he had forgotten how much older Mheetu was than him and was probably the leader of a big pack of lions already. He smiled thinking back to when Mheetu first left the pride to go out on his own. The heartache Kopa felt was almost that of what his mother probably was feeling since she had pretty much taken care of him since he was a little cub. He smiled as they continued walking through the grassy plains of this open savannah, the cool wind hitting Kopa’s face made him think of home when he would spend time just sitting on ride rock with Vitani watching the clouds roll by. He wondered if Vitani still lived at home. He didn’t know what became of her, all he knew was she must have been in terrible pain when he didn’t show up the next day. Mheetu could see the pain in Kopa’s eyes and gave him a light shove while they walked through the grassy plains. They arrived at a large rock formation and outside were some lionesses laying in the afternoon sun a few cubs ran around playing tag making Kopa smile. Out of the group walked a lioness with a dark red coat of fur with brown on her belly and paws. “Kopa this is my mate Furaha she’s quite the mother and queen of my pride.”

Kopa bowed eliciting a look of shock from Furaha “Please Kopa there’s no need to stand on such formal grounds. You are Mheetu’s friend and family so please treat me like you would treat anyone in your family.” Furaha smiled back watching Kopa rise with a smile. Out of the shadows of the cave came another lioness this one smaller about half the size of Furaha but looking just like Mheetu. “Oh yes Kopa this is our daughter Hatia. Hatia this is your father’s best friend and nephew Kopa.” Kopa smiled as Mheetu walked over joining his family sitting down next to his daughter. His daughter on the other paw was staring at Kopa studying him as she tilted her head from side to side, it was starting to give him the creeps.

“What?”

“Dad is this really Kopa? From what you’ve told me about him he seemed like he should be cooler.” Kopa raised an eyebrow at her comment before hearing a little whip as Mheetu smacked her ear with his paw. “Ow daddy why’d you do that?”

“This is my friend and your family so behave yourself.”

“I was just making an observation dad; I mean he really doesn’t look like much.” Kopa’s head dropped in depression.

“Ow.”

“That’s enough Hatia go back inside and I’ll expect to see a little more respect from you when we come in.” Mheetu barked making sure his daughter went back inside the cave. “Sorry about that teens you know how they get.” Mheetu rubbed the back of his head with his left paw before hearing Kopa burst out in laughter.

“Man Mheetu you’ve changed since I saw you last when I was a cub you were all like I’m never going to have to discipline my kids I just want them to have fun like you guys and now look scolding her it’s too funny.”

Mheetu gave an ironic and grumpy look to Kopa who was now rolling on the ground. Mheetu blushed a bit when he saw Furaha chuckling a bit now at the thought of it “Come on Kopa lets go inside where you can explain everything to us.” Mheetu motioned towards the cave. Kopa slowly got back up one paw on his stomach trying to control his laughter before following them inside. He wasn’t going to like explaining this it was part of his life that was filled with pain and suffering but he had to get it out and let his story be heard. As Kopa walked into the cave his mind drifted back to his brother Toko he did leave him with Tojo but he didn’t really seem to mind, he wondered what kind of trouble his brother was getting into now.

**************************************************************************************************************

Toko woke up with a crick in his neck rotating his head until he heard the crack that he wanted before stepping out into the morning sun. The bright rays of the morning sun hurt his eyes as he stepped out of the den. The grass blowing in the breeze while he took a deep breath of the savannah air, looking around not seeing Kopa he came to the conclusion that he’d been left behind. Toko let out a sigh and slumped down in the grass. He didn’t know Tojo or the others really well for now he was just content with just lying in the warm sun.

“Hey you look lonely want some company?” Toko looked up and behind him to see Uzuri standing behind him wearing a sweet smile. “We might not know each other very well yet but that doesn’t mean that we can’t start right now.”

Toko smiled back “Yeah I like that idea a lot Uzuri. So what would you want to do or talk about?”

“Well did you and Kopa ever do anything fun and exciting?”

“Not really other than the time that we beat out a full grown leopard but other than that we just wrestled a lot.”

“Hmm that’s a little on the boring side how about we do something fun…” Uzuri’s eyes lit up with excitement “How about we go tip some Rhino’s.” she giggled.

Toko gave her the strangest look “Uh but isn’t that dangerous I mean we could get hurt or worse die?”

“Oh come on you’re on an adventure with Kopa and you’re probably too scared to have fun anyway.”

“Oh yeah I’ll show you who’s gonna have the most fun between us.” Toko stood up grinning cheekily as he followed Uzuri into the savannah. He didn’t understand it but there was something about her that made him feel all funny inside. Regardless of what he was feeling he was still curious to what she meant and why she wasn’t like this around her parents. The walk wasn’t long at all as they reached a lower part of the plains dirt was all that covered this area from the constant walking by the rhino’s. Toko looked around and he could see a whole heard of rhino sleeping still even though the sun was rising over the plains.

“Come on Toko it’s easy they’re so out of it they don’t even notice it until I’ve already gotten one.” Uzuri could see the confusion on Toko’s face when they got right next to one of the rhino’s. “All you do is put your paws on their side and rock them a bit and then give them a good push and they fall over it’s so funny.” Uzuri put her paws on the side of one of the rhino’s and started rocking it back and forth before putting all of her strength into one push. Toko’s jaw dropped as the rhino leaned heavily to one side and dropped to the ground without even waking up with a loud thud. Both of them burst out into laughter and before long Toko was joining in on the fun tipping one rhino over before heading to the next.

“Man I didn’t know you could have fun like this, why don’t you do this more often?”

“I only do this when I need to blow off steam when dad has me do something that is boring concerning the pride. It makes me feel like I’m a cub again without a care in the world.” Both of them continued pushing rhino’s until it happened one of the horns stuck another rhino waking him up with a howl on surprise waking the rest of the herd up. Toko and Uzuri stood motionless as all of the rhinos were now staring at them including the ones they had tipped over which were now standing up.

Toko slowly leaned to Uzuri “Maybe if we don’t move they won’t notice us standing here and go back to sleep.” Uzuri just face pawed. The leader of the herd roared and both Toko and Uzuri screamed and took off running followed by the herd of very angry rhino. They bobbed and weaved through the trees which were easily knocked down as multiple rhinos ran through them. They ran as fast as they could and thankfully were able to lose them as the grass got taller. Both panting heavily as they took a minute to catch their breath. They took a moment and looked at each other and for some reason couldn’t take their eyes off of each other. Uzuri could feel her heart pounding inside her chest never in her life had she felt something like this. Neither of them move for a while it was like they were staring into the deepest part of their souls and learning everything about each other. Toko put one of his paws on Uzuri’s as they put their heads together. It wasn’t long before the two of them were walking through the savannah close together they would nuzzle every now and then. This was something new for both of them and they didn’t want to mess it up but they both felt that this was something that could survive anything. Toko noticed a tree looking over a large hill that seemed like it would be the perfect place for them to relax. Climbing up the hill was another matter it was steep and rocky and while he was sliding a little bit it wasn’t hard for him to keep his footing nor was it hard for Uzuri. It wasn’t until nearing the top that Uzuri slipped when she stepped on a rock screaming feeling like she was going to slide all the way back down. “You can stop screaming now Uzuri.” Toko laughed seeing her open her eyes to the sight of Toko holding onto her paw with his. He pulled her up until she was on the top with him, both of them laying down under the shade of the tree and looking over the savannah. The view was something indescribable. They could see far into the distance even where the land started to turn to dessert, both of them just laid there watching the animals of the savannah move and go about their lives.

Suddenly Toko felt a lump form in his throat and looking down he could see Uzuri’s paw resting on top of his. He looked up at Uzuri and smiled and placed his forehead against hers both of them closing their eyes and enjoying their embrace. Toko would be fine if Kopa didn’t come back, he was just fine with staying here it was peaceful and he could be with Uzuri all the time. Toko nuzzled Uzuri softly before she stood up letting out a sigh “Come on Toko we should get back there are things I need to take care of and if dad finds out I’m gone he’ll have a hippo.” Both of them slid down the hill and made their way back towards the den staying close together. It wasn’t long before they both arrived back at the den to be met by Uzuri’s parents.

“Well did you two have a good time together this morning?” Siri asked giving Uzuri a sly smile. Uzuri just blushed as she followed her mother into the den and got her tasks for the day from Tojo. Toko spent the rest of the day with Uzuri helping her with the issues of the herds and any other problems that seemed to pop up. While he was helping her with the herds when he had time he told her about what life was like back home and was surprised at how much she comforted him about the bad things that happened. Once all of her tasks were done they spent the rest of their free time just lying out in the sun together. Toko was lying on his stomach and he could feel Uzuri’s head resting on his side as she slept. Toko really enjoyed it here he had always thought about leaving and finding a place he could call his own and this place was perfect, plus it had Uzuri here which was a definite plus. Uzuri woke up to the site of the setting sun shocked that she had slept the day away but was happy to see Kopa walking back towards the den. She got up and shook waking Toko up in the process she just smiled as she headed back into the den to get Tojo and Siri but not before running her tail under Toko’s chin.

“Hey Toko had a good time while I was away?”

Toko looked back as Uzuri smiled walking into the den before looking back at Kopa “Yeah you could say that.” Toko chuckled at the confused look on his brothers face.

“Well I guess if you had a good time that’s all that matters but we’re leaving.”

“What right now!?” Toko questioned in shock.

“Yeah I want to make it home by the mornings rise and if we run through the night we’ll just make it.”

“Oh you’re leaving then without saying goodbye that’s not like you Kopa.” Tojo remarked stepping out of the den with Siri and Uzuri. “But if you must go then we can’t stop you but we do wish you a safe journey home Kopa.” Tojo smiled as Uzuri and Siri nuzzled against him wishing him well and hoping to see him soon. With some final words and a long loving nuzzle shared between Uzuri and Toko the two brothers were off there next destination the Pride Lands and Kopa’s family.

“So Toko I didn’t interrupt anything personal between you and Uzuri did I?” Kopa started laughing when he heard Toko stumble at his question. Kopa quickly regained his composure his gaze on the setting red sky his mind set on seeing his family but more importantly his one true love again if she remained.

Chapter 12: Wakati wewe kuja nyumbani (When you come Home)

(Insert classic Lion King opening music)

The sun rose over the Pride Lands its orange light hitting everything on the savannah letting all of the animals know that a new day had arrived. The wind blew across the Pride Lands the tall grass swaying back and forth as a few meerkats ran through the tall grass heading to the watering hole. The sun hit the stone walls of Pride Rock enticing those that dwelled inside to exit to begin their day. The first lion out was Nala letting out a low growl as she yawned, looking back behind her hoping no other lion saw her do that since it wasn’t very queen like. She looked out into the rising sun the view was something magnificent it was going to be a beautiful day for sure. Slowly Nala walked to the edge of Pride Rock and laid down taking in some of the morning sun, she wanted to be happy but it was around this time of the season that she had lost Kopa and it made her heart sink whenever she thought about him. Nala started to tear up when she felt her King lay next to her and nuzzle against her “You okay Nala?” Simba questioned.

“Y…yeah just thinking about someone that’s not around for me to watch grow up anymore.” Nala wiped a few tears from her eye and nuzzled Simba back feeling him comfort her. She wished that she could just forget everything that had happened on that horrible day but it would always be there no matter how hard she tried. Nala got up slowly her age was starting to get to her a little her legs were starting to get sore and she could only hunt a few times a week now “Simba I’m going to take a walk and get some water before the morning hunt okay.” Nala smiled, and with that she was off. Nala looked back once she had made it a good distance out from Pride Rock and saw Simba still there watching her as she headed out into the distance, it was like he was treating her like he treated Kiara but she loved it. Her trek was soon interrupted when Zazu happened to spot her on his way to give Simba the morning report. Landing on her back he greeted Nala with a bow and was met with a nod from her, she hated to admit it but even though she was queen she still didn’t like him anymore than when she was a cub. On the other had his daughter Zuzu was quite a pleasure to talk to even though she was still in training to be Kiara and Kovu’s Domo when they took the throne from them.

“Good morning you’re Highness, checking in with the morning report.”

“Very well Zazu lets hear it.” With that she had wished she hadn’t even said it because as soon as she did he was literally listing off things that had to be noted. It was something that bored Nala to death so she came up with a plan to get rid of Zazu. Nala was passing a tree with some of the local monkeys and gave them a cheeky smile and motioning to Zazu with her eyes. Within moments one of the monkeys grabbed Zazu and the started picking bugs from his feathers. He squirmed and fought back but with so many it was pointless, looking down at Nala he saw her smile.

“Have fun Zazu I’ll see you back at Pride Rock.” Nala ran off towards the watering hole chuckling.

“Wait Nala don’t leave me with these ruffians…Nala…please…HHHEEELLLPPP!!”
Nala had to admit she did feel a little bad leaving him to the monkey’s craziness but she didn’t really want to deal with him right now. She really just wanted to be alone for a while this was a day she always took to herself even Simba knew that much. It wasn’t long before she made it to the watering hole seeing a herd of antelope drinking from the water as well paying her no mind since she wasn’t hunting. Nala stopped and took a few drinks of water the feel of the cool liquid felt good on this hot morning. Her mind drifted back to when she was younger and just starting out as queen of Pride Rock with Simba and they had just had Kopa.

“Come on mom were going to be late!” Kopa urged.

Nala chuckled hearing her son call her out of the cave “Okay Kopa just stay calm your mom can’t move that fast right now.” Nala walked out of the cave, belly hanging lower than normal with Kopa’s little sister Kiara. Kopa continued to run ahead of Nala letting her catch up each time laughing when he ran ahead of her again. They were heading to the watering hole to see a sight that only happened once a year. The exotic bird migration was coming through the Pride Lands. It was something that both Kopa and Nala were looking forward to seeing together. Kopa reached the watering hole before Nala did jumping around with excitement wanting nothing more than to see this event and the fact that his mother was with him made it even more special.

“How much longer mom huh are they here yet?”

“Almost Kopa just sit and wait I can hear them already.” Nala could hear the sound of a thousand chirps in the distance and soon she could see the multiple dots of the migrating birds. Within moments a colorful rainbow of birds swooped down. Kopa’s eyes lit up with joy as he watched the birds fly past leaning up against his mother purring softly. Nala laid there feeling her son leaning against her enjoying the moment that they were having together loving every second of it. Nala’s mind flashed back to reality and she couldn’t hold in her tears anymore. The salty water ran down her cheeks and into the water.

“Aw don’t cry your Highness.” Nala looked up to see that all of the Antelope were gone and she was now surrounded by Hyena’s. Nala panicked she hadn’t even heard the Antelope leave and the hyena’s show up. Looking around she saw the one that had called out to her, he was the largest hyena there with quite a few scars on his body and face.

“Mivu what are you doing here!?”

“Oh come now Nala even we can hunt in the Pride Lands although you lions don’t make it easy. Besides what kind of host would I be without giving my guests here a feast fit for royalty.” Nala soon realized that they were hunting her and that she had to find some way out of this mess. Quickly she dove into the watering hole much to her hate and went under. “Surround the area she has to come up sometime.” Mivu watched as the rest of his pack of about fifteen surrounded the water as best they could one of them walking further into the water looking. “You idiot don’t walk further into the water!” Mivu yelled but it was too late. Nala’s claw dug into the hyena’s neck pulling it into the water giving her an opening as she took off running once she was out of the water. It was an uneven match she wasn’t as young as she once was and so wasn’t as fast. It didn’t take her long to realize they weren’t trying to kill right away that they were herding her into the gorge which was there they would more than likely overpower her and kill her.

Kopa and Toko had indeed run through the night stopping only once to rest for a little bit and were rewarded with the site Kopa had been dreaming to see again. The sun rose over the Pride Lands illuminating everything insight and shining on Pride Rock. Kopa just looked on tears in his eyes as he looked over the land that he could once again call home. Toko couldn’t believe the site before his eyes, he’d heard about the Pride Lands but never thought that they were this beautiful. Kopa let his mind wander for a moment thinking back to all the fun he had here as a cub, the friends, family, and the girl of his dreams.

“It’s so beautiful Kopa.”

“Yeah isn’t it Toko. My father told me that everything the light touches is our kingdom.”

“Whoa dude everything the light touches is your kingdom no wonder the right to the throne is such a big deal here.”

“Yeah that’s something I’m not looking forward to having to deal with.” Kopa looked around and just watched the animals start to walk around in the early morning. Kopa looked back at his brother “C’mon let’s move on.” They started heading further into the Pride Lands when Kopa noticed a hornbill flying by “Hey Zazu hey down here!” Kopa yelled and the hornbill flew down landing on the ground, it was then Kopa realized that it wasn’t Zazu.

“You know my father, and just who are you trespassing in the Pride Lands?”

“I live here and just who are you?”

“I’m Zuzu daughter of Zazu and the next major Domo for the future king and queen and just who are you?”

“You’re looking at the Prince of the Pride Lands, Prince Kopa.” Kopa watched as Zuzu’s eyes practically shot out of their sockets. Before Kopa could say anything else to her she took off in a hurry heading towards the eastern side of the Pride Lands.

“What was that about Kopa?”

“I’m not sure but I doubt it will be something we want to stick around to find out about.” Kopa and Toko continued down through the Pride Lands until they could see the watering hole in the distance. Kopa smiled remembering the day he spent with his mother there.

“Hey there’s a lioness being chased by a pack of hyenas over there!” Toko pointed. Kopa looked over and saw the lioness and his heart sank. It was his mother; Kopa took off with lightning speed running at full sprint. “Kopa what’s wrong do you know that lioness?” Toko questioned keeping pace with his brother.

“That lioness is my mother!” Upon hearing that Toko started running at full speed as well. Both of them followed as the hyenas chased Nala into the entrance to the gorge. The hyenas easily surrounded Nala pinning her against the rock face. She had her teeth bared ready to fight, she knew she wouldn’t survive this but she could take a few of them down before they killed her.

Nala growled looking around at the hyenas trying to figure out which one of them she would take down first. Nala was about to let out a roar when another sounded through the gorge. The roar caught everyone’s attention looking up seeing two lions standing on a ledge. Looking up at them Nala couldn’t help but feel like she knew the one with the red mane. “SIMBA!” Nala yelled looking up at them she couldn’t tell if it was him or not but it sure did look like Simba. Toko and Kopa jumped down the rocks and to the ground looking at the odds and growling. They walked closer and closer and soon Nala realized that it wasn’t Simba with the other lion.

“Get away from her NOW!” Kopa growled angrily. Toko would’ve said something as well but was shocked at the intensity Kopa was giving.

“Hahahahaha and who do you think you are?”

“I’m Prince Toko the future King of the Burning Plains pride and this is my brother and we’re here to stop you.”

“I’m warning you to stay away from her!” Kopa growled. Mivu motioned for one of the hyenas to attack only to watch Kopa’s claw dig into its neck as he slammed its now lifeless body to the ground easily. Kopa and Toko continued walking closer both of them striking down the few hyenas that attacked as individuals.

“This is your last warning step away from her or DIE.” Toko’s eyes glanced over at Kopa then back to the hyenas, Kopa was serious about what he said. They had managed to slim the packs numbers from fifteen down to seven.

“Grrr you idiots can’t you do anything right? KILL THEM BOTH RIGHT NOW!” Mivu yelled and the pack charged at Kopa and Toko. Kopa and Toko mad some distance as they engaged the hyenas letting Kopa use the skills he learned. Kopa watched as a few hyenas paced back and forth in front of him but he wasn’t watching them only their legs. Kopa side stepped as a hyena jumped at him only to be met with his claw to its throat. The hyena slumped to the ground dead, the next one ran in for a throat attack. Kopa reared back hitting the hyena in the face stunning it before his jaw wrapped around its head and made a crunch. Toko was fairing quite well himself smacking a hyena stunning it while he dug his claw into the side of the one that was on his back. Slamming the hyena to the ground he used his other claw to cut a gash in its stomach letting it bleed out as he caught another mid jump in his mouth crushing its throat. The few that remained started to back up as well as Mivu “This isn’t over you dumb lions I’ll be back.” Mivu and the remaining hyenas took off leaving the bodies of their fallen pack mates behind. Toko and Kopa relaxed looking at each other with a cheeky smile neither one of them had gotten hurt which was how they always ended a fight.

“Are you ok lady Nala?”

“I’m fine and just what do you and your brother want?” Nala growled.

“We don't want anything you’re Highness but my brother here has been searching for you for a while and has something he would like to tell you.”

Kopa walked up to his mother a knot formed in the pit of his stomach and he could feel a rather large lump in his throat. He was really nervous hundreds of things flew through his mind. Would she really acknowledge who he was, how would she react, and most of all would she be accepting of who he turned into. Kopa looked down and pawed at the dirt before looking up at Nala “I…it’s me mother I’m home.” He just looked at Nala hoping she would recognize him.

Nala stared at him and he looked so much like Simba and the words he spoke touched something deep inside her. Then suddenly she saw it and knew who was standing in front of her it was none other than her little boy she thought she’d lost so long ago. Nala could feel her heart beating fast “K…K…Kopa?” all she got was a nod from the lion and she broke down. Tears of both joy and sorrow flowed from her as she nuzzled against her son feeling him embrace her back. It felt like such a long time since she had felt his touch. Nala felt like she had more life in her body than ever before. She stopped loving on him long enough to walk around him looking him over. She could see a few faint scars remained from Zira’s attack on him when he was younger. She still couldn’t believe her son had returned from death itself “Look at how you’ve grown Kopa you look just like your father.” Nala whimpered. She saw Kopa blush a bit and just giggled placing her forehead against his “It’s good to have my little star back.” Nala whispered. She then looked over at Toko thanking him for helping him grow up and inquired about what he meant when he said brother.

“That’s actually a long story mom why don’t we head home and I can tell you all there besides I wanna see Dad and Kiara.” Kopa smiled as they headed towards Pride rock. It was true he wanted to see the rest of his family but he also wanted to see his lost love Vitani. The walk back to Pride Rock wasn’t very long but it felt like it was taking forever to Kopa. This however was something he was quite alright with. When they finally reached Pride Rock Simba was already standing on the ledge waiting for Nala’s return the look on his face almost in a panic when he saw two young lions walking with her. Kopa watched as his father ran down growling at both of them.

“What do you think you’re doing with my….” Simba was cut off mid-sentence when he got a glare from Nala.

“These two saved my life Simba and besides we know one of them.” Nala smiled looking at Kopa still having some tears in her eyes. She watched as Simba stared at Kopa. He had to admit looking at this lion it was almost looking at his reflection in the water.
“We are one.” Kopa saw his dad’s eyes light up when he said that and knew that his father recognized him.

Simba couldn’t believe what he was seeing his own son who’d he thought left this world long ago was standing in front of him right now. It was a miracle if there ever was one to be had. “K…Kopa is that really you?”

“Yeah dad it is….I’m home.” Kopa was struck by his father’s weight as Simba hugged him laughing and crying.

“Who did you bring with you?” Simba questioned staring at Toko trying to figure out his endgame.

“Dad easy this is Toko he’s my brother.” Simba was shocked to hear such a claim. Had Kopa really replaced his own sister with another lion? “Dad don’t worry I haven’t forgotten about Kiara. I’ll explain everything once we get a chance to relax okay.” Kopa smiled, seeing his father relax and smile back at him.

“Look at you Kopa you’ve grown into a strong lion your sister will be happy to see you.” Simba saw Kopa’s ears drop at the comment. “What is it son don’t you want to see them?”

“Them?” Almost as if they heard that they were being talked about Kovu and Kiara came down the rocks seeing their parents with two strange lions. Kopa looked at the young lioness that walked up to his father no doubt in his mind that it was Kiara. He was taken aback she had grown into such a beautiful lioness since she was a little cub. The lion next to her was one that he didn’t know and assumed that it was her mate that he’d heard about in their travel.

“Daddy who are they, do we know them?”

“Kiara this is your older brother…” Simba didn’t even finish his sentence before he was pushed out of the way by Kiara as she hugged him tightly. Kopa coughed trying to push his little sister off of him. He finally succeeded after three tries gasping for air. “I knew that you had to be out there somewhere Kopa.”

“Wait a second Kiara you knew he was alive?” Nala questioned.

“Well yes and no I really only had a dream about the two of them and well I kind of hoped that it was Kopa.” Kiara chuckled blushing a little bit. Kopa and Toko chuckled neither of them knew what to do they had been surrounded by those that cared about them.

“Well are you going to introduce me to the lion that stole your heart sis?”

“Oh Kopa come on you know him it’s Kovu.” Kiara was shocked when she saw Kopa fall to the ground laughing uncontrollably. She just glared at him as he held his side. Even Toko was giving Kopa some odd looks and that wasn’t something that usually happened.

“Hahaha oh man I’m sorry Kiara but I had it perfect when I said that you were going to end up with Kovu.” Kopa rolled around, his eyes watering with tears of laughter. “When me and Tani…” Kopa stopped at that and stood up looking around. “Where’s Vitani? Is she still here?”

“Easy Kopa my sisters still here and living with us, but I haven’t seen her all day so you’ll probably want to go find her.”

“I will but first I think I owe you all an explanation as to why I didn’t come home earlier.” Kopa smiled getting a nod from his father. They headed back up to Pride Rock and let him tell his tale of what had happened and how he had just recovered his memory. He couldn’t hide it although he was happy to be home he was thinking of no one else except Vitani. Nala could see that he had something else on his mind and gave him a nudge.

“If you want to go find Vitani then I suggest that you go and find her.”

“Yeah big brother she left before mom was up I was talking to her and she just left in a huff.” Kopa stood up and looked at everyone before smiling and taking off to find his lost love.
