others to be decided later

----

It was a cold and stormy night. Just after midnight, a very exhausted Kiara ran through the outlands, heading for home. She'd wandered too far, daydreaming and walking aimlessly.

Kiara ran as fast as her legs would carry her, hoping to get back home before anyone got worried, or before the few outlanders who refused to join Simba's Pride noticed her presence. Since she was quite worried about time, she did not look where she was going, and stepped on a sharp rock which created a huge gash in her front-right paw. Her stride was disrupted and she fell, smashing her head on another jagged rock, causing her to bleed and go unconcious.

Back in the Pridelands the next morning, Kovu paced back and forth, anxiously waiting for Sarafina to be ready to go. He was very worried about his mate.

After what seemed like an eternity, Sarafina emerged from the inside of Pride Rock. She let out a big yawn and stretched, making her sharp claws stick out like penknives. Then she sat back up and looked up at Kovu.

Let's go! We've got to find her! Kovu said anxiously, not keeping his paws on the ground for more than a second at a time each. His facial expression indicated great distress. We MUST find her before it's too late!

Sarafina bounded towards the worried lion. Hey, calm down Kovu. Kiara's smart, she can fight her way through pretty much anything. Now come, we need to find that girl.
Sarafina began to walk slowly off.

Ok! Uhmmm... Kovu ran right... Then left... Then right again. ...where do we look? he said, looking at the old lioness, baring his teeth worriedly. We've got no idea where to start! Ahh... Kovu banged his head on the ground in frustration.

Sarabi saw the spectacle and came out to Sarafina. Do you think you ought to bring him along? He could get hurt, or cause a distraction... she said, glancing at the girating lion.

Well if he didn't, replied Sarafina, with a touch of impatience in her voice, He would probably tear Pride Rock apart.

Snickering a little at the comment, Sarabi looked again at Kovu and decided that Sarafina was probably right.

Kovu! she said, Why don't you use your head instead of banging it against the ground? That would be a much more efficient way of finding Kiara. Sarabi winked at Sarafina and went back to Pride Rock.

Walking to Sarafina, Kovu tried to think of where his beloved mate could have gone to.

Sarafina breated out slowly. Right, Kiara's an adventurous, bright girl. Where do you think she would have gone? After all, you are the closest one to her in this operation. She cocked her head to the side and smiled encouragingly at Kovu.

Kovu sighed and tried to collect himself. I hate to say it, but I think she's probably gone to the outlands. She had been speaking of it... But I said no. Maybe she decided to go without me... he said, gulping nervously. It had been so long since he'd been there, he was nervous about what it would be like after all that time.

The Outlands? Oh, that wild imagination of hers. She looked at Kovu, and then said to him, I know she's a fully grown mature adult. She really is, but who knows what could happen there!
