read the planning thread before you start here!

Simba sat down. His mane were turned grey, and his breathing was hearable. The old king stretched his body and started talking to the lions he had invited for this day. A special, but sad day.

"I've invited you, because I want something to tell you, my friends, my family, and especially you, Kovu!"

Kovu nodded. "Yes, sir. I'm listening." he answered. Kiara looked at her old father. She herself was a fully grown lioness now. She was lucky and never knew that much sorrow. But this day would end that era.

"It's time for my sun to go under, and the sun needs a new king and queen to rise with. I'm old, and I know I don't have a long life ahead of me. But it's okay.. My time has come to let the Pridelands go, go to you, Kovu, and you, my beloved daughter.

Kiara had always looked forward to this day, but she felt a pain in her heart. Her old, loving and guiding father knew his last day of his life had come.

"Step up, my friends. Make room for Kovu and Kiara to walk upon Pride Rock. They are the new rulers of the Pride Lands now" Simba spoke.

Kovu stepped forward, Kiara right behind him. The other lionesses followed them, and Simba remained in the den. When the last lioness left the cave, Simba layed down and breathed his last breath.

A new era has begun.

Nakisisa was happy, Simba was dead and Kovu had taken the rule, Now was the time for their long awaited revenge, the pridelands would suffer, the lionesses would beg for mercy, and very few would get it, or so he thought. All he had to do now was wait for Kovu to send a messenger to get them, Then the era would officially begin!

---

Jata was upset, it had been such a happy reign under Simba, she was still very young when he came to power, and had only heard stories of what happened to the pride before Simba stepped up, today a new era began, the era of Kovu and Kiara. They would be a good king and queen, especially since Kiara and Jata were quite good friends, or so she thought. Ruling a Kingdom can have its downsides.

Kovu decided to let the animals of the kingdom come to the Pride Rock. He sent out the lionesses of the Pride to inform all animals. Birds were used for this purpose, since the lions didn't leave their primary territory in order to protect the Pride Rock and it's direct area.

While the animals in the kingdom were being informed about the oncoming ceremony, Kiara sat down in the den of Pride Rock, next to the spot where her father used to nap in the late afternoon, before the dusk started settling in. She never cared much about becoming a queen. She was born the doughter of a king, but for her, it wouldn't have been different if she was a lower ranked lioness' cub.

The new king entered the den. "How are you doing, Kiara?" he asked his mourning mate. "Kovu.. I'm just not ready. I miss dad." Kovu sighed. "You don't have to be ready. I'll take lead, when you feel right, you just step by my side." Kiara smiled at Kovu, not aware of the true intentions of the word he just sayed.

Jata walked into the cave where Kovu and Kiara were talking, "My King" she said "Do yoou mind if I talk to the queen in private?" she then walked over to him and whispered to him "I may have a way to help her, afterall we have been friends along time!"

---

Nakisisa anxiously, Kovu should have claimed his kingship by now, what was taking so long? "When I find him I'm gonna kill him for making us wait." he said angrily as some birds flew overhead and some animals walked towards pride rock.

Kovu nodded at Jata. "Sure you can talk to her, I have things to do.." After saying that, Kovu left Kiara and Jata alone in the den. "Jata, good to see you! What brought you here?" Kiara greeted her friend.
The normally happy and worryless lioness didn't look at ease. "Jata, are there problems? What is it?" Kiara started.

Jata, good to see you! What brought you here?
Jata didn't reply just standing there with an uneasy expression on her face

Jata, are there problems? What is it?
"Its you Kiara" she said with a croaky voice "I'm worried for you, your father dying and all, he was a great king" she said going and sitting by her "And you don't look so good yourself, is there anything you want to talk about?" she said purring slightly to mask the pain she was feeling, "Ohh and just so you know, I'm never calling you queen or anything, It would be too weird" she said laughing slightly.

Kiara smiled. "I'm thankfull for that, my friend! I hate that whole queeny thing. I'm me! And you see me the way I am. That makes you a precious friend!" The two lionesses snuggled and sat down.
Both didn't say anything, which resulted in an awkward silence.
"....Kiara?" Jata started.
"Err.. you don't have to worry about me. I'll be fine. It's just that I've lost my father, my guide, and now I have to rule this kingdom. I still have Kovu, but he's just so young, just like me.. that's all. But I'll be fine!" Kiara ensured Jata.

"I kinda doubt that" Jata started. "Since your father and our king died, Kovu has been busy with his changes. He doesn't talk about it to you, does he?" she continued.

"Kovu just wants to spare me the job of taking care of the Pride and the Kingdom now I've just lost my dad. He's caring, and I trust him blindly. Come on, he's Kovu!"

"You'll be shocked at what I'm going to tell you, Ki, but.... well just follow me and I'll show you what your "kind" mate is up to!" Jata mubled.
Kiara followed her best friend who led her outside the den.
