All was good in the Pride Lands. Vegitation was everywhere, and every lion was happy as can be. Simba waited for Kovu to come find him. Simba was Kovu's best friend, even though that Kovu was an out lander. Mufasa made a deal with Scar. If Kovu hurt anyone, or Scar had hurt anyone, Kovu or Scar would not be allowed to step even one paw in the pride lands. So Kovu and Simba had to be careful as to not get into any trouble. Simba groomed himself as he waited for Kovu.

Kovu was running fast straight to their meeting place. He was in a really playful mood, but in the Outlands there wasn't anything to play with. He was really close, so she slowed down a little so he wouldn't crush anywhere. He suddenly saw Simba and walked close to him. Hello Simba! He smiled to his best friend.

Simba stopped grooming himself, and looked over his shoulder. He got up, and smiled excitedly. "Hey Kovu!" Simba was happy that his best friend could come and play with him when ever he wanted. Simba gave Kovu a playful push, and giggled. Suddenly a bird flew past the two young cubs. Simba got off Kovu, and looked around for the bird. It was Zazu! Simba looked at Kovu with a sly look on his face. "Hey Kovu.. want to go play a bit with Zazu? I'm sure he is reallly bored" Simba said sneering.

Kovu watched as the hornbill flew above them. He then turned into Simba, who asked him something while sneering. He smiled evily. Yeah, sure! He loved playing with Zazu, although Zazu definitely did not.

Simba sneered again, bent down, and pounced on Zazu. Zazu gave Simba a glare and a peck on the head then flew away. Simba stuck his tounge out. Well that wasn't much fun! He just flew away... what a whimp. Simba layed down in the shade and sighed. It was very hot out. Want to go for a swim? Simba asked his bestie.

Kovu felt dissapointed that the majordomo left without any of his boring theories about being polite, but his dissapointment faded when Simba asked him to go swimming. Yeah, let's go! He said with a playful look.

Simba trotted off leading the way to the water hole. As soon as Simba reached it, he felt the ground shaking. Checking again to see if it wasn't his imagination, Simba put his little ear to the ground. The ground vibrated. The herds of animals that were drinking perked their ears up and began to run. Simba was confused. When Kovu reached the water hole, Simba looked at him and asked,Did you feel that,Kovu?

Kovu listened carefully and stopped moving. The ground was really shaking, he could feel it. Yes, I do. It's really weird, the ground's shaking! he said as he looked around. Why did all the animals run away? He was confused by all this.

Simba felt the ground vibrate again. The pebbles shook violently. Soon Simba saw a tree sink into the ground. Then Simba new it. He knew. Feeling very scared, he didn't want to worry his friend, but he had to. Simba stopped watching the ground, and turned to Kovu. He gulped.Kovu, I think there's an earthquake..

Earthquake? In the Pridelands? he said, not believing his friend. Buthe immediatly changed his mind when he saw another tree sinking deep on the ground. Ruuuun!! he screamed as he started running towards Pride Rock.
