[ not for me lol xD ]

The dark lioness wrenched back, freeing her forepaws. She dodged away from another lash and released the red lioness, bouncing backwards on all four paws and snarling furiously. She shook her coat, ignoring the blood that dripped over her ashen fur. Clawing at the ground, she charged once more at the other female, rearing up and swiping like a horse.

Chaltuu scrambled to her paws and saw her opponent, making a hasty decision on whether to barrel into her chest and attempt to knock her to the ground or dodge the attacking female, and she chose to go with the latter. Quickly she leaped to the side, although she hissed as the female's claws grazed over her flank and made her flesh sharply prickle as if pierced by a bee or wasp's pointed stinger. Bellowing, she parted her jaws and roared directly at her enemy, drawing her lips back and baring her teeth fiercely. Though she was tiring, she wanted to see how many more blows she could land on the other female before either one of them gave up and left.

She skidded to a halt, planting her forepaws back on the ground and swinging her head around to see the female. Her ears flattened at the deafening roar, and she opened her jaws at let loose one of her own, matching in ferocity. Shaking her head, she ambled slowly towards the red lioness, not charging, but just approaching. "Back off!" she roared. Her orange eyes blazed with anger.

Chaltuu growled, rearing back a few paces while batting threateningly in front of her all the while. "Why don't you?" she hissed, before sprinting ahead a couple of steps with a swipe. It wasn't aimed at the greyish female, but more as a gesture of possible aggression. Her teeth were bared menacingly and she growled, but started to plod down a slope, but as she looked back she noticed that the carcass was gone. She couldn't suppress a smirk as she came up the the assumption that while the two were grappling over the kill, someone had snatched it for themselves. She didn't doubt for a minute that it was possible. After all, the two females had been distracted by their fight and the strong, unmistakable odor of blood could easily block out the scent of an intruding lion or lioness while they dragged it off.

[So, how are they going to really "form an alliance"? It's not an alliance, but you get my drift.
Also, again, sorry that I made that happen. I wanted it to be a more "nobody really wins" fight. I mean, it's happened before when animals (like bears or lions or other predator animals) fight over prey and someone snatches it while they're distracted by fighting.]

[ lol no idea. And it's fineeee :3 ]

The darker feline merely snarled in reply, and snapped her jaws as the other swiped at the air in a threatening way. Watching her move off she lifted her head, then followed the other female's gaze and hissed in dismay. That had been hers! Kaharabu bounced towards the rusty lioness. "Did you send someone to do that? Were you just a distraction?" she growled furiously, her tail flicking wildly. She did not like loosing, and hated being tricked even more. If the red female had been in on that she'd be in for a world of hurt, far more that she'd already endured.

Looking disgusted and annoyed by the greyish feline's question, Chaltuu lifted an eyebrow. "Do I look like the kind of lioness who works in a team with others to you? Idiot. I did not have the faintest idea that someone would walk off with that antelope. I work by myself." Though she knew she was probably only sparking a verbal battle, she was also being honest. She had never teamed up with anyone, although that wasn't as if the female would know that... But how dare she so openly accuse Chaltuu of teaming up with someone and being a distraction while the other one sneaked off with the ungulate's carcass?

Kaharabu spat at the ground, her claws pricking against the soil. She couldn't be sure that the other lioness was telling the truth, but she really didn't feel like going to lengths to find out. Either way, she had no food, and was battered up as well. Snorting, she lashed her tail and turned away from the ruddy female, glancing to the distant herds again. She'd have to try again. Glancing back, she called, "Keep out of my way!" Not wanting any more to do with the stranger, she marched off in the direction of the prey.

"Gladly," Chaltuu spat back, galloping off in the opposite direction of the other feline. So now neither of them had won the fight. Although the brief battle between them had been all for naught, she couldn't suppress a smirk. And though she had had nothing to do with someone taking off with the ungulate's carcass and she herself wouldn't be able to eat from that source of food, neither could the greyish female, as far as she was concerned. Besides, she had been eager for a skirmish, for reasons she didn't know. Perhaps it was her impulsiveness, perhaps it was because she enjoyed proving that she was not an unworthy opponent in battle, but she couldn't ignore the fresh wounds on her pelt from the scuffle.

She slowed her pace after they were a good ways apart, and sat down a moment to check herself over. While the injuries hurt like hell, she did not think they were threatening. The worst ones were the gashes across her chest, still dripping blood. Perhaps it would be best to clean up and rest before she tried hunting again. She was sore and annoyed, and she knew she didn't get far like that. Snorting angrily, she shook her head and began to make her way towards a patch of shrubbery nearby to get out of the sunshine.

[Crud. Let me edit my last post real quick. I messed up so the [/b] shows and stuff. Sorry about that, it probably looks weird.]

Chaltuu padded towards some denser foliage as to not alert anyone- prey or predator- with the scent of blood. She craned her head around to wash some of the blood that accompanied the fresh aching wounds. She ignored the crimson that stained uninjured parts of her pelt- it would wash off in time and it didn't need attention. She didn't care anyway. She knew quite well that she looked like even more of a wreck than usual, having been in a rough scuffle like that, but she didn't care about her appearance right now. She needed to clean the wounds that she had received to prevent infection. One thing she couldn't stand was having to search for herbs, and worse, be weakened by injuries. She had never been skilled when it came to healing plants, and she had been chased out of the healer's cave a good few times for nearly consuming lethal herbs as a cub, and she hated being weak and having to rest all day.
