Kamari slipped Jotu a smile and then said to Rangi "What do you want with her?"

"My certain request was a dark female cub to adopt for myself, to pass on the knowledge my pride once passed down to me." Rangi said.

"How long will you be needing her, Rangi?" asked Kamari.

"As long as possible, maybe even forever." Rangi said.
Jotu looked at his paws awkwardly.

"Fine. But I will return for her one day." Kamari loved her daughter; but couldn't say no to this beige lioness.

Rangi nodded and picked up the newborn, and disappeared in the horizon. Jotu ran up besides Kamari. "Thank you so much! I owe you so much, you've freed me of this hellish prison!"

"I had as much of a choice as you had. But I will miss Heshima. That is what I called her." Then Kamari paused "....Do you think I will ever get her back?" She wasn't sure if she wanted to know the answer to this question.

"Only if you rescue her. And you're probably gonna need a whole pride. There may be only two of them, but the Death Sisters are very powerful. They're legendary."

"Maybe one day... One day I will..." Kamari's voice drifted off. "Where are you going, now that you're free?" even though she was sad, Kamari was still curious about almost everything.

Jotu sighed. "My first stop will be an apology to Maji, and an explanation too. And then I'll be off home, by the shoreline, at the edge of Africa. It's a long walk, but I'll be fine."
