The dull gazelle was grazing and chewing on grass silently. The wind was blowing the tan savanna grass ever so lightly and the earth felt one beneath her paws. Slinking closer unhurriedly towards the oblivious gazelle and keeping a close eye on her, Zira bent down more into the grass. By now, she was almost invisible to the world around her. Hunting was like that for her. While you sneak up on your prey and are crouched deep into the depths of the grass, it was a great feeling. Zira was as low as she could go to the ground, and it looked as if this was the perfect time to pounce. The gazelle bent her head down and scooped up another mouthful of grass. Chewing silently. She was perfectly content. Zira creeped a little closer to the gazelle, and she made her move.
The gazelle whinnied and tried to fight back, but Zira's agility was no match for the unfortunate animal. Zira growled furiously and sunk her teeth into her neck until she tasted a heavy irony-like taste. Blood started gushing out of the gazelle's jugular. She coughed and whinnied, fighting for her life. The gazelle fell down with a big thump. After just a few seconds, it was as if her life had floated out of her. The doe's eyes shut slowly as her body relaxed. The doe was now dead. Zira smirked in satisfaction. Scar would be so pleased with this catch. Licking her chops she grabbed the gazelle by the neck where she had bitten and dragged it off back into the Pridelands, with her muzzle coated in fresh blood.
