Adia leapt up. She had herd a small rustling. She look around, and was slightly disappointed to find that it was only a little gecko. Great. Some amazing discovery you made. she sighed. She was only paranoid because of Adla. She had never really been with a pregnant female before, and was determined to do everything in her power to make her safe. She looked at her calm face. She was always stressed and guilty when she was awake. She really couldn't do anything for herself, and she felt bad. And she felt even worse because- and Adia knew this- she was having twins. It was obvious. She had even discussed it with Abasi- he agreed. But they wouldn't tell her, just in case. Her gaze turned and fell upon him. He was lying there, in all his majesty, fast asleep. She laughed quietly, a curled up in a ball to go to sleep.

It was a dark night and Mosi was guarding Winda and Hasina, like he usually did. He looked at the sleeping faces of his friends and smiled. "A long day is ahead of us, I feel it," he thought. Suddenly, Winda woke up. "What happened?" he asked. "Nothing. I guess. I was just having a nightmare. I'll go back to sleep," Winda said. Even though she seemed calm, she was terrified. She dreamed about her mother whom she lost in early age. She was calling her from a distance. Winda shed a tear and thought to herslef: "It's just a dream..." and turned back to sleep.

The dawn rose up, blinding Adla with its intensity. 'Uh!'. She cringed away, acutely aware of her mate sitting bolt upright, worry etched into every line on his face. 'I'm fine! Just... Groovy. And sicky'. Asia yawned and nuzzled her sister, their usual greeting. 'How are you?' She whispered, when Abasi was out of ear shot. 'Fine', she murmured, and wobbled to her feet

Winda and Hasina also woke up, allowing Mosi to take a short nap. "You've been up all night, Mosi. You definitely need some rest," Hasina said to her friend. Winda looked at her not really satisfied by what she heard. "Can't you mind your own business?" she asked. She still felt horrible over the dream she had last night, but wasn't willing to talk about it. Hasina noticed that. She was used to Winda being nervous but not this much. "Is everything OK?" she asked. "You don't seem very well." Winda just said: "Leave me alone," and Hasina obeyed. Day didn't seem to have started very promising.

Abasi wandered away from the lionesses. He wa neighing to have serious doubts about traveling around all the time- how would it affect the cubs? They would need tosettle down with a pride soon, and he really wasn't looking forward to it. Hopefully they would just find some juveniles, not an established pride. But that may be a bit difficult, so he turne and surveyed his mate. He eye were restless and guilty, and she needed a place to rest.

Mosi woke up, as it was already midday. He yawned and looked up to his friends. He noticed that Winda was not really in the mood, but was wise enough not to irritate her. Instead, he came to Hasina. "Is everything OK?" he asked. "More or less," she said. "Winda had a nightmare. This can't go on like this anymore. We need some rest. We need a pride." Mosi sighed. Deep inside, he knew Hasina was right. Since they live on their own, their life has become much harder. He stepped aside, thinking. "Will we ever find a pride? All the prides I know in this area are already formed." He suddenly felt solemn.

Adla eyes closed. All she could feel was black, black surrounding her. She felt like she was trappe underwater- the silence itself was deafening. 'Alda!' She heard Adoa yell. She had to come back up, but it was nice there- no pains, no guilt...just quiet. 'Please', her sister sobbed. But something was changing. With a gasp, her eyes opened wide, and was met with tge sight if her sister in tears, and mates frantic eyes looking down at her. 'What happened?' Alda cried, burying her face deep in to Abasi's fur. 'We need to find a pride'. His voice was sure and dominant. 'You need help- your sister is too young to help you, I don't know anything about childbirth, and you are soon to go into labour.' He paused. 'And I smelt lions a couple I hours back- I didn't want to tell you in case you got worried, but now we need them. Even if they are foul, they won't say no to a heavily pregnant female'. They can't, he thought. Or hoped

Mosi now could easily smell lions not far from here. "It must be a pride, he thought. Already formed pride would never let us in. He wanted to think differently but he knew it wasn't really possible. He didn't know for any wanderers closely. Still, he could feel the smell he hadn't smelled before. "I'll definitely go to investigate," he said to himself and wandered to where the scent came from.

Abasi tenses his muscles. He smelt lion- male. Most definitely. He looked back on Adla, who was being comforted by her sister, who was desperately looking at him. 'What's going on?' She mouthed. 'Another lion. Or lions'. He couldn't stop the smile creep across his face. 'This might be the break we're looking for!' He grinned, but tried to suppress it. He turned and walked sconfidently towards the smell. 'Hello?' He called out. 'We won't hurt you? We're... Looking for a pride'.

Mosi heard him from a distance. "Did he mention anything about pride?" he thought. "No. It's too good to be true. I must be hearing things." Still, Mosi could hear lion's voice deep in his head. He walked carefully towards the sound and smell. Finally, he could see him from like 50 meters. "Umm... hello", he said.
