Name: Lion Quest

Story: In this AU, Simba has retaken Pride Rock and banished Zira. However, Zira had Vitani (who at this point is a cub who has barely been born because Scar and Zira suffered through infertility up until this point) with Scar. Not wanting the innocent cub to suffer in exile, Simba and Nala adopt her as their own daughter and raise her alongside Kiara. Time passes and Vitani eventually reaches adulthood. One day, she overhears two of the lionesses talking and hears about her birth parents, leading to a fight between her and Simba in which she claims to hate him and runs away to find who she really is. She meets a new pride and a love interest. Among all this, Zira is seeking revenge. What will happen? Find out!

Simba had reclaimed the throne from Scar, who was now dead. Returning to the ground after giving a mighty roar, he rubbed heads with Nala and Sarabi. "It's over. The Pridelands are ours once again," he said to them, unaware of the lionesses who were bringing Scar's widow, Zira, before him.

One lioness cleared her throat, causing Simba to turn. "Your majesty, Zira and her followers are here. She has a cub," the lioness said, her voice serious.

Simba looked at the small golden female cub and then at Zira. "Zira, are you willing to abandon Scar and follow me and my queen?" he asked, hoping she would.

Zira growled, "Never these and will always be Scar's pridelands."
Nala looked at Simba unsure of what he was going to do next.
Sarabi stood at her sons side looking at Zira with disgust.

Simba's attention was drawn to the tiny, scruffy, golden-furred cub at Zira's feet. "Very well, Zira. Since you will not accept me, you and your followers are banished from the Pridelands. Also, what is your cub's name and what is its gender?" he said.

Sarafina sighed at Zira's answer, she had been one of the lionesses who had brought Zira to Simba and Nala. Zira had always been obsessed with Scar, it was no surprise that she did not want to put him behind her so easily - If she had, it would probably have been for some twisted reason. The pale lioness remained silent, however, turning her attention back to her kings words. Simba was interested in Zira's tiny cub. Sarafina watched curiously to see what he was going to do, her gaze shifting between the cub and the golden King.

Simba took a step forward and glared at Zira. "I ask you again. What is the name and gender of this cub?" he demanded, knowing what he intended to do: he would adopt the cub as his own and give it a better life.

Zira protected her cub with her paws, "If you must know, her name is Vitani."

Nala looked at Simba and then the little cub, "She's so cute." She thought to herself.

Sarabi saw Nala's face and Simba knowing what her son was going to do she nodded to him acceptably.

Simba looked at one of the lionesses flanking him. "Bring the cub to me," he ordered, watching Zira to see what she would do, hoping she wouldn't attack.

The lioness did as she was told. She took Vitani from Zira and set her at Simba's paws. For a long moment, she hoped that Simba wasn't going to kill the cub.

However, Simba merely nuzzled it and then looked back at Zira. "Take your followers and get out of here!" he ordered. He glared. "Also, don't even think of coming back!" he added.

Zira growled, "Give me my cub Simba!" she ordered.
Nala looked at Zira and said, "You heard the king leave."
Sarabi looked to Simba and then to the lionesses they surrounded Zira only leaving one spot open for her to leave with her followers.

Simba motioned with his head. "Now, leave. This is not a suggestion or an idea. If you don't go now, I will make your exile worse and send you to the Outlands," he stated.
