Title: Kovu and Vitani's father

Story: It's Scar's reign in the Pridelands... Everyone feel bad, hungry and thirsty... A cub Nuka, the king's heir, seems to be weak and unhealthy. So, Scar announce, that Nuka won't become the future king of the Pridelands... When Zira finds this out, she decides to leave the Pridelands for a short time and find another male lion. She is looking for a strong and healthy male, who could become a father of her future cub. The cub, that will become a king of the Pridelands.

Scar growled as he waited for Zira to deliver his new heir to the throne. Finally, a lioness came out and informed him that the cub, a male, had been born. He went into the den and looked at the bundle between Zira's paws. He saw that it was scrawny and weak, much as he himself had been at that age. He growled in disgust. "That cub disgusts me, Zira. He is not fit for the throne," he stated.

"He may be weak now Scar, but give him time he can grow into a mighty King... Just like you." Zira replied licking her tiny cub. The cub in particular mewed quietly hungry for his mother's milk. Nudging him aside Zira got up and faced her king. "If he is not fit enough to be a king then I'll mate with a different lion. One that will assure us a strong healthy son." She layed back down and rolled to her side so that Nuka could nurse from her. "Once he is indepent I'll leave Scar."

Scar snarled. "Trust me, Zira. That thing will never be my heir," he said, walking away.

Time passed and Nuka grew. He was a timid cub, weaker and smaller than the rest. He was ostracized from his pride. He knew what Scar proclaimed of him at birth his mother would never let him live it down. he swore that he would become the best, become the King..... "Mother, why must you leave?" Nuka whined looking at her sorrowfully. "You know why Nuka, we've been over this. You are not fit to be king. I must go find another male who will give this pride strong healthy cubs to grow up to be king." Zira snapped at her son. She loved her son when he was first born, but seeing how weak and pathetic he was she distanced herself from him. Now she is preparing to go and find another male lion. One worthy of her, one who will make a strong one. She turned her back on her first son and stalked out of the den. Scar prowled up to her as she got ready to leave.

Scar looked his mate over as she was exiting the den. "And where do you think you're going?" he asked.

"You said you want a worthy son, one who can become a King scar? Well if you're the father there will never be one" Zira laughed at him. "I'm off to find another lion who will give us a strong cub." a malicious gleam came into her eye, "strong than even Mufasa." she purred rubbing along Scar.

Nala watched silently as this was all happening. Nuka was definitely too scrawny and weak to become king. When she heard Mufasa's name, she started tearing up. It had been very boring and dull since Simba and Mufasa died. Simba was her best friend, but now he was gone forever. She tried holding the tears back, and stayed as quiet as possible.

Scar suddenly spotted Nala and glared at her. "What are you looking at?! Get back to your hunting practice this instant!" he shouted.

Nala walked backwards and ran away, doing what Scar had told her to do. She didn't need hunting practice. She could hunt well. But she had to listen to what the king told her to do.
