Title: What If?

Story: What if Zira was Mufasa's sibling and Scar was not part of the story? It starts with them as cubs during Ahadi and Uru's rule and goes through their lives into adulthood, featuring the pride's trials and tribulations, ultimately ending at the births of Simba and Nala.

Mufasa was the first one up that morning. Eagerly, he watched his sister Bianca as she slept, waiting for her to wake up so that he could play with her. After a bit, he began to get impatient. "Come on, Bianca," he said irritably.

A young lioness cub slowly padded over the border of the territory of the Pridelands. Zuri's reddish brown fur shined in the sun and her green eyes scanned around for any lions. Her mother had somewhat mysteriously vanished and she needed someone to look after her.

Sarafina was the next to awake in that morning, she ran off to find Sarabi and the other cubs to play with.

Mufasa smiled, relieved that Sarafina was finally up. He ran to her. "Hey Sarafina. What do you want to do?" he asked.

Sarafina smiled at her friend, the Prince,
"I dunno Muffy, anything really, but I'm really thirsty, wanna go to the waterhole?". Meanwhile, Zuri saw a huge rock in the distance, it looked like somewhere lions would live. She started to run towards the place.

Mufasa thought about it for a long moment. "Sounds good enough, though we should probably wait for my mom and dad to wake up so they don't wonder where we are," he said. Just then, another cub awoke. Her name was Fara, and she had a reputation for being the pride bully. She looked at Mufasa and Sarafina. "So, what are you two losers up to?" she asked in a mocking tone.

Sarabi had woken up just a few minutes before Fara had said something to Mufasa and Sarafina, "Maybe you shouldn't be such a mean cub." Sarabi started coming up behind Fara, "You know one day Mufasa is going to be king and you should give the prince more respect." She added going to them and standing next to Mufasa.

Fara frowned. "I don't care, Sarabi. Once I'm old enough, I will leave this pride, find a rogue and be queen of our own pride," she said with a prideful smile.

"Good for you." Sarabi said actually caring. "But your not old enough and you happen to live in this pride so I think Ahadi and Uru have high power over you and since their son Mufasa is next to be king you should respect him as if he were the king, much like the rest of the pride does." Sarabi said defending her friend. "Let's go play, Fara if you'd like your welcome t join us." Sarabi added kindly before running off the stone path of priderock, "Mufasa Sarafina lets go!" She shouted from the bottom of priderock.

Fara sneered. "Hmph. Like I would bother to actually play with any of you," she said before turning back to her parents. Mufasa followed Sarabi, Sarafina in tow. They got to Sarabi. "What do you want to do now?" he asked her.
