Title: Enemy From Within

Story: In this AU, Simba and Nala had two daughters after the events of TLK: Kiara and the gorgeous, dark-furred Jasmine. The events of SP played out, and both girls fell for Kovu, leading to no shortage of jealousy between the sisters. After Zira's death and Kovu being accepted, he was forced to choose between Jasmine and Kiara. He chose Jasmine. Kiara simmered with rage for some time before finally snapping, leaving and vowing revenge. Now, Simba and Nala have passed away, Kovu and Jasmine are king and queen, and Kiara will soon return, aided by a pack of African wild dogs. What will happen? Find out!

Kovu looked out over the Pridelands. As he did so, he thought of everything that had happened: his mother's death, his succession to the throne, and, most of all, his marriage to Simba and Nala's beautiful daughter Jasmine, the love of his life and his queen. She, like him, had dark fur, and he loved her to no end.

Jasmine awoke as the morning sun shone in, beating off of her dark brown fur, she raised her head and looked around the den, she yawned and then got to her paws, she stretched and then shook the dust from her pelt, she then headed towards den entrance to go to the water hole, she saw Kovu standing looking over the lands, she padded over beside him and nuzzled him and licked him over his muzzle "what are you thinking about honey" she asked curiously.

Kovu sighed. "I was just thinking about everything that's happened, including what went wrong with Kiara. I can't believe she vowed revenge on us over me choosing you," he said, returning the lick as he finished speaking.

Jasmine sighed “she will hopefully come round, I hope she is ok, out there all on her own” she told him with a look of sheer terror in her eyes as she thought of what could happen to her sister.

Kovu shook his head. "The desire for revenge is what ultimately killed my mother. I don't wish that on anyone," he said. He then headed back towards the den, sighing to himself.

Jasmine wandered to the water hole her thoughts with her sister all the way there.

Kiara had been walking for days, trying to find a new place to live as a group of rouges forced her from her last den, she walked into a large plains and quickly noticed were she was 'the pridelands', she quickly ran back in the direction she came but lurked closely by the borders of the pridelands.

Kovu entered the den and found Vitani. "Vitani, I need you to help Jasmine and I for a bit. Until this situation is resolved, could you keep an eye out for Kiara and report to us if she shows up?" he said.

Vitani sat up a bit straighter and dipped her head. "Of course I can, Kovu," she said softly. She shook her head for a second, and then looked back at him. "Is there anything else I can do for you?"

Kovu shook his head. "No, but if something comes up, I'll tell you right away," he said.
