A Day To Remember

The evening light played off the tall grass of the savannah. The seemingly peaceful scene was by far misleading, but it was hard to suspcect that anything bad could happen in such a beautiful place. Michief however, was definately taking place. A large shadow moved with almost complete silence and percision through the tall grass, stalking closer and closer to small impala that had wondered away from its mother.

The shape seemed to slow down a little at a time as it krept closer and closer to its prey. Once or twice, its violet eyes could be seen glinting in the sun. The shape froze all together as its gaze wandered to a nearby butterfly instead of the prey. But no, now was not the time.

The great, strange looking cat began to kreep a little closer to the impala once more. NOW! The great shape launched out of the grass at the young impala. The impala tried to escape, but it was too late for the little animal. Echo had taken down her pray.

"I'm sorry young one," the lion-creature said softly as the animal went limp under her paws. "But we all need to eat sometime right?" Echo licked her lips and took a bite of her prey. She hummed softly as she chewed. She gazed around lazily and she began to let her mind wander. Little did she notice company was nearby.

The crisp evening air drifted through Azdgari's nose as he wandered through the warm evening. The golden light bathing his coat, the pleasant smells, the feeling of the grass snaking through his paws... it was an evening to be enjoyed. The light a playful, dancing gold streak in his icy blue eyes as they ran over the savannah, taking in the scene. He relished the caress of a cool breeze that briefly wrapped itself around him.

His muzzle twitched as another breeze brushed past him, this one carrying the scent of a fresh kill nearby. Azdgari smiled to himself. Glad somebody got lucky, he thought to himself, having already filled his stomach. As he walked in the general direction of the smell out of idle interest, his ears stood at attention and picked up a ghostly note on the breeze, almost a hint of a song being hummed... with little else on the agenda for the night, Azdgari continued towards the noise, hoping to meet another (ideally friendly) lion. Soon, a lioness hunched over her kill came into view, munching blissfully and humming to herself. With a smile, Azdgari called out "Hey over there," and flashed a smile.

Echo licked her lips and sat up. Her nose twiched slightly as a light wind brushed across her pelt. A faint smile played across the lioness' face as she continued to hum. How beautiful the day was. Echo bent over once more to take another bite from her kill. Before she could eat however, a voice interupted her. Ears pricked in alarm, Echo jumped to her feet and faced the newcomer.

The odd looking lioness relaxed slightly when she realized that this lion hadn't approached aggressively. He didn't look angry to see her at all. In fact, he even smiled. Echo smiled back, suddenly feeling at ease once more. "Well hello there," she greeted the lion warmly in a loftly voice. Her tail waved back and forth slowly as Echo sat once more. "You startled me. I didn't hear your approach." The lioness arched her neck to lick the fur on her chest. Her strange mohawk-like main ruffled slightly as she did.

"Would you like to join me?" Echo asked with another kind smile, motioning to the impala in front of her. "You are quite welcome to." The lioness's tail curled around her to rest over her hind paws. Normally, lions probably didn't invite others to have some of their own food if the lion in question was not part of their pride. Echo however, was unusual and hand no pride to share with. Company was welcome to her.

OOC: sorry i took so long to reply. My muse died, but i've been attempting a revival.
