Yes. At least for my website. Just

A couple hackers attempted to take over my site. I spend my WHOLE FRIGGIN DAY fixing the issues :x :x :x . I'd rather not post an announcement in my forum, i'd just let them figure out what happened.

*sigh* at least I was able to fix a hacked site...

^ So.. did this ever happened to you?

If your a techie (maybe an admin of TLK may understand this), then you can understand this how my site was hacked:
The hacker managed to hack my site by a cookie exploit. They modified the cookies to alter the sessions for the cPanel (my website control panel) and they hijacked my cPanel session by the cookies they altered. They attempted to vandalize the site my making file changes in the site but they ran into a page that says (Welcome, please login) so they decided to use my email addresses in the site and spammed alot of people about Canadian pharmacy. I quickly deleted the email boxes and contacted their ISP for abuse immediately.
Lessons:
Always log out if your going somewhere. My site was mainly hacked by session hijacking. So if your logged in a forum or something, and leave your computer on for 10 hours or so (without logging off), spammers will hijack your account (by cookies) and post spam/Canadian pharmacy on the forum.

Nope. People hack 'cause they think that the site is stupid. But don't listen to them. I'm not exactly sure why people hack, though. It's just too annoying.

Sure, I've had plenty of trouble with them pesky crackers. =P
There was a time when I was on the InvisionFree community, where low security meant bums were cracking forums left and right. I used to do a little white hat work a few years ago there with the help of my friend, mostly using techniques similar to the one Ruko described to kick crackers off forums. Major waste of time though, getting involved in that stuff. As long as your careful to secure your forum, you should be fine. =]
