(I wasn’t able to make a topic in the News and Announcements board, so I figured this would be the second best place to put it)

17th of May is Norway’s National Day! Eventhough Norway is only represented by 4 people or so here on MLK, I wanted to make this topic to let you know of our special day.

So to all you Norwegians out there: Hurra for 17. Mai!!!

For me personally, 17th of May holds not only many, many great memories of joy and celebration, but also a very special memory about my grandfather. When I was 9, I spent the day with him down town, watching the parade, eating ice cream and enjoying the carnival that always comes to town this time of year. He bought me a scratchcard from one of the booths, and I won a big, purple plushie Elephant. It was an amazing day.. 12 days later my grandfather passed away, so that day was the last I spent with him.
