well, you might want to browse through breed overviews to see what kind of dog you might want. some dog breeds might be what you want in appearance, but not in care. adopting a dog from a shelter is always a good choice, just ask and make sure it doesn't have any health or behavioral issues that you can't deal with.

Wow, congratz! What will you name him/her?
Be sure to take time to find which breed of dog you want, unless you want a mixed breed ^.^ Just remember, most big dogs (for example Great Danes, Huskies, German sheperds etc), they need lotsa food and exercise. Little dogs, (Chihuahuas, Yorkies, etc) need lots of attention, I believe

No pressure there! Go for whatever you fancy lol.
