well, I'm sure several of you have noticed my absence. if not then I'm telling you now

at least a managed a warning in the chatbox of the possibility about 5-10 minutes before my sudden disappearance.

on the 18th the power went out all over my region due to heavy, wet snowfall. trees and their branches broke and fell everywhere due to the snow's weight. power lines, phone lines, and cable for tv, internet, and phone were all damaged in many locations. and that was only with 5 inches of snow that the power first went out. the snow got to at least a foot deep the next morning, which worsened the damage. and when a few inches melted, there were a few more trees that fell. it still snowed for a few days, adding a few more inches but it didn't get the snow any deeper than a foot, at the valley floor anyway. our power was out for 8 days. and I only just got my internet back today because of the highspeed cables being damaged. there's still lots of people without power, water, or internet so I'm lucky. and I'm hoping there isn't a repeat of this the rest of this winter.

it wasn't too bad. I got to build snowmen, take pictures, and my Gameboy Advance runs on batteries. but it totally murdered the Christmas presents I was going to do on several sites for secret Santas and such. I luckily got this site's taken care of though

Well it's great to hear that your back Simba, and that nothing too bad happened with the snowfall you got.

thanks. some places looked like a warzone though, with trees in the road everywhere. but they've pretty much taken care of all the trees and debris in the way now. but no one's been injured in this mess, so that's really lucky

Yeah that's good to hear that no one got hurt. I live in Colorado so I have had my fair shares of blizzards every year. :S

this wasn't even a blizzard. it was just a big snow. the last time we had one like it was 1997, which put the power out for 5 days then with a few more inches.

yeah, you're out there where the skiing is popular. definitely seems like there'd be very snowy winters. I'm in the south though, so it's been awhile since we've seen snow like this. since....well the 1997 snow lol.

it probably would've returned faster if there weren't idiots stealing the copper out of repair equipment and power lines.

Wow sorry to hear that your power was out for so long, but at least you're back now! Looking forward to the pics lol.

I had seen the lights flicker a few minutes before and said "if I suddenly disappear and don't get back on for a few days, my power went out." lol, I guessed it right. the last thing that was on the screen was my rogue getting ready to fight some monsters for a quest on Dragon Fable. I walked out of the room to help my parents get the new fridge in, and halfway through the door everything went black.

sure, FuzzySimba. lol, I'm sure we can be friends. I'm always accepting of a new buddy, I'm a social person.

I remember that! LOL I thought you'd left because you were so caught up fighting monsters and villains and stuff! Too bad the game was lost eh? xD
