Farsightedness?

I had an argument with my parents about 20 minutes ago about getting glasses. :sleepy: I'm soooo mad. :grr2: This morning I went to an eye doctor who “determined” that I have farsightedness.. >.> And I KNOW that's not true because:
1. The eye exam was NOT done fairly... but I won't go into detail about that. :/
2. I know my eyesight is perfectly fine. I have almost 20/10 vision and nothing appears blurry to me, close or far. It’s possible the eye doctor told me to get glasses just so she could sell her products. =\
3. If anything, it's harder for me to see objects far away than up close (but I know I don't have myopia either).
So I’m pretty mad right now. My parents say I should get glasses and I don’t want any. What’s worse is, they think it’s because I’ve spent too much time in front of the computer, even though I’ve tried explaining to them that too much computer time causes nearsightedness, not farsightedness. But they won’t listen. >.< They’ll cut my computer time to an hour, which means hardly any MLK at all. :(
The good news is, they are willing to get me retested by a different doctor. Wish me luck… I hope I do better this time. If I don’t, I might as well say goodbye to this forum forever. :sad2:

This is really a shock Amanda. >.> I honestly hope things will get better for you my lioness friend. :)

I was gonna say, you should try a different eye doctor and see if the test results are different. ^^ I'm wishing you luck on your next eye exam. Then you'll show your parents that you don't need any stinking glasses. ^^

That is so unfair! Adults can be such a pain! :headache: :kickassnala:
It would be horrible to lose you, you’re such a great friend. I would miss you terribly if you had to leave.
Best of luck on your next test, there is nothing wrong with your sight, so it HAS to go well.

Thanks for the support guys. :P
Here's an update: I went for the retest today. The bad news is, the first doctor was right...I really do have farsightedness. Apparently I was born with it. :headache:
The good news is, it's not as severe as she said it was. In fact, it's barely noticable at all. Although glasses are recommended, I won't need them because my vision is already slightly above average so it balances out. :smile3:
Plus my parents were wrong. Using the computer too much did not cause this defect. It's hereditary. Adults can be so stupid lol
I'm so happy! :D I won't have to leave MLK after all! ^_^
