So...I just wanted to let you guys know that I'm alright.

This morning, I was involved in a minor traffic collision. I was riding my normal three mile bike ride from home to school. About a couple miles in, I was hit by a car traveling at a low speed. I'm alright physically, though still a little bit shook up over the accident. It was technically my fault since I failed to stop at a stop sign.

Luckily, there were no injuries and there was no damage in excess of $750, so under California state law, no report to the DMV had to be filed. The police decided that since there were no injuries and the damage wasn't that heavy, no citations would be issued. The police even gave me a courtesy ride to school.

However, my front bike wheel sustained some damage and will have to be replaced. That's the worse that really happened. The lady who hit me gave me $17 to help replace the wheel, which was pretty nice of her.

Aww that sucks! Thank the stars it wasn't too serious though! Must have been scary for you though... I don't blame you for being shooken up.

If i'd've been teh person in teh car.. i'd've sued you for scratching my car (if it was scratched) .. LOL.. just so i could get new paint.. cuz i'm mean like that.. lol.. jk.. prolly wouldn't have.. i'm not that mean.. anyways.. it's unfortu- oHH.. I MEAN good, that you didn't get hurt

That really sucks lol. I'm glad you weren't seriously hurt though. ^^

Glad you escaped without harm =) I know a guy who was hit by a car and was in a coma for several months before waking up a different person It's very sad. I'm glad you're alright.

I wonder what the judge would have said if he saw a claim for a lawsuit for $10...probably would have thought you were a real loser.

BTW, I don't think there was any damage to the car since it was her bumper that hit my tire.
