College!

Ooo-rah, college! Anybody else in the process of looking/applying? I'm targeting/reaching for Brown, of that I'm sure after visiting, but otherwise, I'm pretty undecided about schools to apply to. Boston College was alright, and Wake Forest is pretty incredible, although I doubt I could contend with the workload. What's the story with other people?

Been there, done that. Got my degree in 2004, though I actually finished in December 2003. I took extra courses almost every semester and finished in 3.5 years. Only my thesis defense stopped me from having 2003 on my diploma instead of 2004. I loved college. I didn't go to my first choice school, but I had a blast nonetheless. Living on campus was the best decision I made.
The only thing that could have made my experience better would have been if my husband had gone to the same school so I could have met him even earlier. He totally fits in with my group of college friends.
PS: I found the looking/applying stage of college the most stressful part. Everything else was a cakewalk (but my high school WELL prepared me for the college workload). And getting used to living away from home took a few weeks. But easy-breezy after that!

My goal is to continue going to a community college for 2-3 years, and get an AS degree. Then, hopefully, I'll be able to seamlessly transfer to a university to study engineering. I was actually planning on filling out an application for that this weekend.
Whatever's beyond that, I'll deal with it later, when the time comes.

I am already in a community college (financial decision), but am planning to transfer out as soon as I can. I am already a year late because classes are getting cut left and right (math and science even faster than those like art) so for this semester, I am stuck with only one really useful class, and one class that is not a complete waste of time. But because of that, I am hoping to get out next year.

Those old people who say "School years are the best years of your life." Clearly never went to college, its a lot better =D.
Any ways, I have a feeling that UK education system is quite a bit different to yours, but from my own experience if you got on okay with school work, you should be fine with college... Its not harder as such, but there is quite a bit more work. And you can not just hand work in and hope its okay, it has to meet assessment criteria in pretty specific detail.
I will also echo what... Some other person who I can not remember said and say that applying and trying to make the right choices is the stressful bit, however if you plan to go to uni after it should be fine any way =)

I'm going to apply for Caltech and MIT, as well as a few more, majoring in physics. The application is going to be a lot of work, hope I can cope with it.
BTW, last month my best friend got admitted to Cambridge(or was it Oxford?).

I'm still in Highschool and just reaching Grade 10.. shh, I'm young. But I'm planning on taking "Film and Media" in Humber College located in Ontario. It may cost a lot of money, but if I'm a success I'll give a shout out to you MLK-ians.
Possibly even going to Sheridan. I'm unsure at the moment, but I'll be applying to both, hopefully making it into at least one

Well, I have been recently accepted to Louisiana State University (LSU), but I need a high enough score on my SAT and ACT exams in order to attend later on this year. I have majored in Political Science, but if that doesn't work for me, my second major would be Television and Film Production.

So far, I would almost say college is easier for me than high school. The work in college is more in depth, and their expectations are higher, but there's a lot less work. For each class, there's only one or two assignments every week, not one or two assignments every day. As long as you can manage your time efficiently, it isn't bad.
