Hurricane Irene Aftermath

Soo..Hurricane Irene is finally over. How did you guys make out? I'm glad the effects weren't as bad as we expected up here in New York. I hope you guys are okay! :hug3:

I live in Connecticut, and it wasn't as bad as they made it out to be. My house has no damage, but we had to sleep in my basement because my parents were scared. I'm surprised our power didn't go out!! But I do feel bad for those with damage or power outage...

Me too! Goodness knows that we should be thankful that the storm wasn't as terrifying as we anticipated. It's understandable that people who currently have no electric are a bit antsy, but I get so angry when they keep complaining and blaming LIPA, and other electric services for the problem. My dad works for LIPA here and he's been working 16 hour shifts this whole week, along with the rest of his lineman crew, trying their hardest to get peoples' lights on as quickly as possible. :/

My campus here in DC was fine. Worst damage was to the National Cathedral and especially the Washington Monument.
