It was subconscious to me at that time (if my theory is correct), but when I watched TLK I became especially emotional because I related some of its parts to my own life. My father and mother stopped seeing each other when I was around 2, but my father continued to pick me up every so often (once every couple of weeks, maybe once a month) to take me somewhere we could spend time together. When I was around 7 years old, he just stopped coming. My dad was above average in height and strength, and being the powerful man he was, I'm sure I subconsciously compared him to Mufasa. Simba and I both lost our fathers, but I guess his loss was more permanent. I would cry, hard, at Mufasa's death.

Can anyone else relate a part of their life with TLK?
