Has anyone ever wondered what time period TLK takes place in?

I've always pictured it as taking place sometime in prehistory, possibly because there appears to be no sign of human civilization whatsoever in the movies. There are no roads, no villages, no evidence of any modern infrastructure. Either the movies are set sometime in the distant past, or they're in some extremely remote part of Africa.

To me it doesn't really matter lol. It's just "then." Time doesn't have any real meaning in the TLK world, every generation lives like the last in the circle (not the like) of life.

I don't know when in time the films take place but I do know they take place in Tanzania's Serengeti.

I think that it really doesn't matter to me when it took place. By the creatures in the movies it obvisously was recent times with the whole evolution thing, but there are no humans as well.

I think it's, historically, recent. Lions are, in evolution, current excisting.
So I don't believe they are prehistoric....then it'd be about sabertooth tigers XD lol

I think the TLK world is set without humans, so it is set without time. There is literally no mention of humans being involved in anything.

Judging by the number of stars though, Simba was not one of the first kings, that's for sure

Don't think the TLK was set in prehistoric times (there would STILL be humans around).

I just think TLK world is set without humans to interfer thus there is no time set. However, it would be quiter erm..interesting if TLK was set in a national park.

Yeah, I'd like to think the lions of TLK as actual beings, not lions under human control.
