This idea is great! I might make up a design for them and draw it.
My language (Arabic) is actually the closest language to swahili. For example, Sarabi has the same meaning in arabic. Maybe I can help you with the names? Swahili and Arabic use the same names.
Here are some names:

Nuru : light (girl)
Jamal : a handsome boy (boy)
Jamila : a beautiful girl (girl)
Salim : peaceful (boy)
Huda : good luck (girl)
Hadi : good luck bringer (boy)
