I think frozen is a good disney movie. Definitely in my top 20.

The lion king is one of my all time favorite movies for a very large number of reasons. Yeah it has its flaws, everything does, nothing is truly flawless. I just get more enjoyment out of rewatching it than many movies, including most movies made for a more grown up audience.

I hate how people see animation as a just for kids thing when animation to me, is a legitimate art form. An art form that takes an immense amount of talent, dedication, and passion to be good at. It takes far more to be great at it. It takes a group of truly special people to create something like the lion king.

I love CGI, don't get me wrong, but hand drawn animation is timeless. Even old disney movies like bambi and sleeping beauty still look gorgeous many decades later.

There are a lot of breathtaking moments in this movie, especially if you watch the blu ray version.

I do like the music and story in frozen. It's a good movie. There's just something special about the lion king that makes me so passionate about it even 20 years after seeing it.

The movie helped me out a lot as a kid, and this summer when I hit another low point in my life it helped me out again.
but I'm just amazed at how they can do so well even to the point of making no two snow flakes alike in the movie, just like for real.
While I do admit that the snow and ice in Frozen looks very amazing indeed, making no two snow flakes alike with computers is actually very simple and trivial. It's called applying a random seed to a base template. Video games use a very similar technology for years now - tessellation. In fact, it can be argued that not making the snowflakes unique would be harder - Disney won't settle for just one snowflake, so then you get to the question of how many unique snowflakes do you have the artists create before the execs decide that no one will notice a lack of differentiation in the flakes.

Or you can just have the computer throw in random bits into the base renderer and presto, unique snowflakes.

In the Lion King, the CGI behind the stampede scene in my opinion, a far better demonstration of using CGI properly than Frozen making snow pretty. That being said, the snow in Frozen is still very pretty.

I think Frozen's pretty outstanding for the first two thirds of it, but then it starts to stumble a little near the end right when the Fixer Upper song number starts. The idea for the end resolution is good despite it being a tad predictable, but the way it was executed was so underwhelming and paced so quickly that it left a lot to be desired. A certain reveal late in the film also felt unnecessary and didn't really add much to the conclusion of the movie. Another thing that was a bit aggravating was the song placement. We're bombarded with so many early on before it suddenly gets sparse and it makes for a disjointed flow to it all.

The Lion King is a more consistently enjoyable experience for me. Throughout its entirety, everything is paced very well and the songs, the score, the drama and the writing remain solid throughout its entirety.

Frozen was a good film, but it was nowhere near as revolutionary as people make it out to be. I'm disappointed that they're making a sequel, lmao

As much as I love Frozen, The Lion King will forever be my absolute favourite movie. Nothing can top it, IMO.

Lion King is a classic, the movie that made me fall for animation. While Frozen was a great movie, nothing can really top Lion King for me ever. I can't even compare these two actually, because of how far behind Frozen is. Lion King always!
Also, I'm not that much into animation that portrays humans, so yeah, Lion King.

I wasn't a fan of Frozen if I'm honest, I just found it a bit boring. Some of the songs were OK, but not particularly. The Lion King will always be my favorite Disney, is such a good movie :) :)

Lion King, hands down. Frozen was okay, but I feel like it has a lot of plot holes and felt rather bland to me. :T While TLK and its sequels aren't perfect either, I still go with Lion King any day!
