I'd buy Scar stuff and discuss stuff about TLK.

If they are available to attend, I would love to meet the filmmakers behind the three Lion King movies, and discuss the franchise with them and fans. I would probably buy The Lion King: Six New Adventures and The Lion King on Broadway CD.

I'd be in my element! XD As TLP said, getting to meet some of the makers of the films would be brilliant, and of course opportunities to buy more merchandise would be hard to resist... (I really do not have the room!). It would be cool to chat to other fans, if I was brave enough. I probably wouldn't cosplay, though. :)

I would have loved to meet other dedicated fans, not to mention the writers and animators.. I would gladly buy all kinds of merchandise, including original drawings, lol.

If MLP:FiM can have BronyCon, why not TLK have their own convention? :)

^ Because we're not a big enough fandom, that's why. Bronies are just about everywhere, but dedicated TLK fans? Not so much.

In 2012, BronyCon had about 4k attendees. MLK is the most active TLK fansite around the internet, and we have about 100 regularly active members, scattered about the world. Of those 100, how many would actually be able to make it to a convention? 30, maybe?

We also don't have the means to gather the writers and animators of the creators of TLK. Bronies are still growing as a fandom, and the reboot of the franchise is still in its infancy. The people who work on the show are working on the show as of now. It's still being made. TLK, in comparison, is a dead franchise.

15 years ago, I could have seen it happening, back when the fire for TLK was very much alive, but not so much anymore.

That being said, I would absolutely love it if we could do something like that. If there was a TLK convention within a reasonable distance from where I live (less than 5 hours or so, by car), I'd go for the day without a second thought.

Yes, TLK on its own is too small of a fandom to merit it's own convention. Maybe it could fall under a Disney convention, since that's something ongoing?

I would love to go to a TLK convention, and to meet people who feel exactly the same way I do about TLK, since I have yet to meet anyone in real life who has come anywhere near to being as much of a TLK fan as I am.

Though I think I remember someone on this site who managed to find TLK at ComicCon? I can't really remember

There was some TLK stuff at Comic-Con last year. I got a Simba plush I didn't have (shock!), and there was some artwork around as well. Someone also made a TLKoB Scar costume for the masquerade.

Disney, as in general Disney, does have a really big annual convention. Stinks of advertising though, which is why I couldn't see them doing it for one particular film let alone just TLK.
But if there were to be one, buy ALL things and meet ALL the people! Of course...
