Hey guys, I've saw several people on internet saying that The Lion King is sexist because the males have the power, and racist because the hyenas are rejected by Mufasa. Also they say that The Lion King is bad because it advocates monarchy, while Mufasa and Simba are still great kings

. I confess that it made me feel very sad

, even if I don't agree.
So what do you think? What would you answer to this?

I started a thread about this a few months ago on the main Lion King forum called 'Lion King for adults, some observations from the cat'.
Right here

Yes, The Lion King was actually criticized for having racial stereotypes in the hyenas. Heck, there was even a news report uploaded here:

Ugh, I have no patience for people like that tbh. Why must they over-analyse everything!? IT'S A MOVIE.

sorry, but that video made me laugh
"They were there for the entertainment value not to over analyse it" - SO WHY THE HELL IS THERE THE NEED FOR THIS VIDEO LADY?
FFS. If these people had any bit of sense, they would realize that male lions lead the prides in the wild... Chase Hyena's and have to deal with death, sometimes of their own cubs.. I think, showing death is a cartoon is a gentle way of introducing it to children. I think this was the first 'death' as it were I witnessed as a kid. Back then it didn't bother me.
Some people have way too much time on their hands.

Heh, if they think Lion King is sexist why don't they watch some more nature documentals?, even then, in real life monarchy, so far I know, it's the male one who reigns while the queen is a sort of sustitute and adviser, if the king dies, the Queen becomes the absolute ruler, that's what I THINK. About monarchy, I'm not a fan of it, I'm one of those who thinks the power can't be set in a single person, but what does it matters when it's only a lions movie, it's just something based in that popular thing about the lion being the King, therefore how can they obviate monarchy? :B
Hyenas are rejected by Mufasa because they're the bad creatures, the enemies, remember these animals are enemies in real life aswell.

I agree with you guys. After all males lions rule even in the wild, so why not in TLK? I think they chose the hyenas as villains because they are cadavers, but not sure about that though…

Omg.
I can't believe how far fetch this al is.
It's an animated movie for crying out loud.
I highly doubt the makers of such a movie actually think about it that much.
Lol.
And well, don't we still live in a world where the males still think they are IT? :p haha
Doom on all lions then in real life, as they are the bosses of the females.
Also, from now on, no more movies with an evil stepmom/sister.
It's a bad reflection onto real life, and is hurtfull for real stepmoms ...
*rolls eyes*

Ok, it's not sexist in any way because in real life, the male lion rules the whole pride and is the boss. TLK was based off something in real life!(except maybe not for the monarchy part lol)
Anyways, who would criticize TLK in the first place?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
