Hans was one of the composers of music in The Lion King movies. I recently purchased a CD of his called "Film Music of Hans Zimmer"



It has great music from great films such as Gladiator, but I was surprised to find no suites from The Lion King. There was nothing from Pirates either (if I'm not mistaken). It kind of disappointed me, but overall it was a cool CD and I liked his music. My favorite is Now We Are Free from Gladiator, but I think that the version on the CD is different than the version in the movie.

Has anyone else heard this CD? Why do you think he wouldn't put TLK music in it? I think its his best work...

I love his music. Not just in TLK but also in The Rock, POTC, The Dark Knight, Gladiator & Black Hawk down. He is my Mozart.

Have you heard of Ennio Morricone, Zack?

Yeah, didnt he compose the famous song in The Good the Bad & the Ugly.

Yep thats probably what he's most famous for. I have the album Yo Yo Ma plays Ennio Morricone. Yo Yo Ma is a famous cellist (probably the worlds best at the moment) and he got together with Ennio to play his music. Its a wonderful album. Its a bit more classical than what Hans Zimmer does in his movies. I still don't know which modern composer is my favorite out of those two.

Yeah, Yo Yo Ma did a good job in Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. But other then that Im sad to say that Ive never heard his music before. One of my personal faviroutes has got to be the Hollywood legend John Williams who composed the music for Star Wars, Jaws, Indiana Jones, Schindler's List, Jurassic Park, E.T. & Harry Potter.

Oh yeah he does an excellent job. Was he the one that did Star Wars' main theme? Or did he just compose everything for Star Wars?

I think he did everything. Even the new ones.

Yeah, it adds to the awsome effect.
