Kiara might not have known as a cub who her second half was, but now she's older she might!

What do you think her second half is?

I think she's a forbidden lover because Kovu is/was an Outlander, or atleast Scar's son, right?

I always saw that as her other half is Kovu's wife, although as a cub Kiara did not know this. That is why she could not answer Pumbaa.

Makes sense!!! That certainly does explain why she could not answer the question!!

I think her comment to Pumbaa has a double meaning. Literally, I always took her comment to be an expression of her frustration at Simba's over-protectiveness. She still wanted to be an adventursome cub and develop her own identity rather than be forced into acting a certain way because she was the princess. Her lines in "We Are One" hint at this as well:

"If there's so much I must be, can I still just be me, the way I am? Can I trust in my own heart or am I just one part of some big plan?"

Figuratively however, the remark also serves to foreshadow Kovu being her other half as an adult.

I always thought that she ment she was her own person too and not just a princess. I thought she said that becuase everyone was telling her that she's a princess and that's what she has to be, but she didn't really think of herself as such and just wanted to be seen for who she was not for what she was.

I agree with this. Most Disney Princesses have this same problem.
