Recent Disney Movies

Not just Disney...but all the movies that are aimed for kids have been up in quantity and down in quality. This topic is a continuation from page 1/2 of this topic: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=104

Ever since Toy Story 2, kids movies have been getting REALLY...not good. They're funny. But they aren't powerful like The Lion King is. I think they realized they could make more money if kids bought funny movies. They'd rather laugh from a brainless joke than watch a movie like The Lion King. I dunno, maybe its just me.
Computer animation is incredibly tough, and I give a lot of credit to whoever works on those movies. Some computer animated movies take up to 30+ hours just to make one still!
Yeah I guess so, but maybe they spent too much time animating and not enough thinking about story :goodnight:

Naw thats not true. Actually I'm pretty sure its harder to draw frames for a 24 frame per second movie than make a computer animation...I don't know...research project lol

Still movie makers are spending less time making their movies. So I dunno, what do you guys think?

I do think Disney could deal more with plot line and story telling than the overload of petty jokes, but you can't say all movies are like that. Iron Man, Batman and Transformers are all based off of cartoons and comic books and yet they made some of the best movies I've ever seen. These companies like Paramount and Dreamworks really have taken advantage of that dip in film quality.

Maybe they'll be able to turn a corner and rediscover that perfect blend of humor and story telling.

Well yes but those 3 weren't made for children. Although I did like Over the Hedge, that was a good movie.

Almost every review disses Over the Hedge, but I don't get the reviewers. They almost all hate animal fiction stories and yet they keep reviewing them!!!! It's brutally annoying... :headache:

I liked it though. 8-)

I agree with you. Disney's sort of slacking off with its movies for kids. The old ones are so powerful. The new ones are funny, but there's really no story.

I belive that many of the new disney movies don't appear good because they come after TLK was made. TLK sets a standard that not many movies can live up to. I bet if they didn't make TLK, newer movies would be better. But I'm not saying that there shouldn't have been a TLK series cuz I love em.
