Hey Everyone as The title of the Topic says Lion King will return to Theaters on July 12th in honor of It's 30th Anniversary.

I hope My local Theater gets this showing.
It's too bad Disney was not smart enough to pull back Inside Out 2 and put The Lion King back in The Theater on the actual 30th anniversary of It's limited release.

I don't need Inside Out 2 pulled back because Pixar needs a huge box office hit since they haven't had one since Toy Story 4. Thankfully, as I secretly wanted, I'm glad The Lion King is getting a 30th anniversary re-release. The only downside is the availability of showtimes in my area. The Disney100 re-release last year was only in select Cinemark theaters and was hardly promoted.

There was a Re-Release of Lion King for Disney's 100th Anniversary
I didn't know that either. My local Theater is independent so I can only Hope They will participate. in The 30th Anniversary Re-Release. * Crosses Claws*

I just came back from seeing it. The version used is the 2011 Diamond Edition version (in its 1.78:1 aspect ratio), with the clouds of Mufasa's ghostly form absent when Simba runs towards to it. I'm disappointed. They could have at least used the 2017 Walt Disney Signature Collection version since the original theatrical cut was out of the question.
However, "The Lion King" is a must-see because it was made for the silver screen. The colors become more alive and the sound design gives you the feel of the African savanna.

I got to see it in the cinema for the very first time. I missed out on the 3D release a decade ago so I was adamant I'd not miss this. It was honestly hard not to get emotional at fulfilling a long dream of mine. Movie was good too, as always!

My Theater did not get the 30th Anniversary release. It was a bummer. It being The 2011 3D version would have been an annoyance, but I would have went to see it anyway. It is The Lion King.
