Adding on to TheLionPrince's reply, Simba isn't to be blamed for Mufasa's death. Unfortunately, Simba was just at the wrong place at the wrong time for Scar to carry out his plans to get rid of Simba and Mufasa so he can claim the throne. Scar knew and took advantage of the fact that Mufasa would protect Simba at any cost without hesitation after witnessing Mufasa protecting Simba and Nala from the hyenas at the Elephant Graveyard. After Mufasa was killed, Scar took advantage of Simba's emotional instability and placed the blame on Simba to further guilt him into exile.
