^ That's not going to help in all cases. Some people have fairly blank profiles and don't have many friends. Posting the lists here is probably a good idea, and it has been done before.

Dont directly ask the person your are gifting, that does spoilt it. Julie is right there are some members that dont have up to date profiles that being the case, posting down your current intrests (or edit your profile anyway) might be the best idea

Well if I get someone I don't know very well (which would be most of you) they are getting a smile in their general direction. Possibly while thinking of them.

But nah, you'd have to do well to give something they don't like. Everyone here likes the same stuff anyway.
Just don't give a siggy, it'll be gone from their signature faster than you can blow your nose.
