The Disney D23 Expo this year will feature a sneak preview of The Lion Guard from August 14–16. I remember back in 2013 that's where Disney announced and showcases the first look of their slate of upcoming films such as Zootopia, Moana, The Good Dinosaur, and Finding Dory. So, probably that's when more information about the show will finally be released.
