[quote="Nicholas"]@Flip Well, I really HOPE you are right that the member Q&A will not be going anywhere. But it just bugs me that if we want to socialise with a specific MLK member, we are from now on forced to do that in a spammy chatboard, where it'll be quite difficult to talk since one conversation usally dominates the whole chatboard. Also, according to the staff, they made this change as well for our own ''safety'' so that non MLK members can't find out personal things about us. I say this is rubbish, because we are not little kids that need ''protection''. We ourselves are responsible for what we post, and I dont think the staff should take responsibility over us.

This is a lion-- erm, general discussion board or something, not facebook nor messenger... if you want to socialize, you can still use the thread, you can use the chatroom, you can use pm, you can add the other person through one of the several IM clients, well... you've got some options, more than having 20 chat threads with the SAME objetive. The thing about reducing the chatthreads to one, is mostly about organization, I mean, is not like ALL the threads were ALWAYS active.

Yes indeed, this place is not Facebook or messenger. You're right about that. However, neither is this a place where you can dump your frustration, whine about life, and be emo. So if we're going to be a forum-fanatic then why not add a new rule that it is forbidden to talk about ANYTHING except TLK? Exactly... that's what I mean.

Just because that's changed a lot I used the term "general discussion board", but still, I think those topics could be regulated too, somehow.. I'd love if we could ONLY talk about TLK, but it won't happen, so if we're still a forum, why can't we talk about other things aswell, without getting stucked in those threads you mean, or using the forum only to find people to talk. A rule on that wouldn't be accepted from a lot of people, so why not something in between?, like that rule they were talking about before, something like you can't post in those sections before you get your x number of posts in tlk sections, or something, I don't know, also I think we should come up with something to motivate people to make comments in those, I don't know how, but I think it's really possible.

Actually, I wasn't being serious about that rule I mentioned. What I really meant, is that everything which isn't related to TLK on this forum, can be concidered ''spam''. Therefore, we are all spamming since this Forum has lost its original value to be a ''Lion King'' forum.

There's a difference between ''offtopic'' and ''spam''

anyways, the chat threads thing happened because they were a little out of control, that's it.

Well, that's debatable. I'd say those useless topics in the den are out of controll as well. The only thing most people do at MLK is post their thoughts or what they are doing, which is a bit pointless.

But anyway, let's drop it because I am already ''spamming'' this thread for triggering an argument. And I don't want to make it worse.

It is not Facebook until somebody makes a post saying "OMG I TOTALLY BOUGHT A RANDOM THING THAT NOBODY BUT ME CARES ABOUT!" And then 20+ people "Like" the post even though they really could not care less and the poster feels all special about it.

At least that is what I believe the kids are doing on Facebook these days.... And just about any web site for that matter... Which would include this one... Which would make my point kind of senseless...
I confused myself now and ruined my own joke haven't I? WELL THEN HERE IS MY 2ND ATTEMPT AT A JOKE - So guys I got a new job today, it is pretty great - I work at a hotel and am senior lift / elevator operator there, I take care of the shafts, fix and repair them and keep them running generally. How is it you ask? Well its okay but... IT HAS ITS UPS AND DOWNS!

After reading this and hearing other peoples views on it, i have to agree on locking down topics that are becoming pointless. There are topics that are the same thing, created over and over, and there is almost no point to having more than one. As is those that don't have a purpose other than general chat. If i want to talk to someone there's this thing called PM. Also the chatboard... if those aren't good enough, there is the Member Q&A where u can ask them anything and start a discussion that way.
