Spambot Defenses!

Hello everyone,

This is just a notification about how we are ramping up our spambot defenses here at MLK. We've put into place some security measures to help insure that spam stays out of our forum. First, we will be removing the TLK Q&A from the registration form (this was that anti-bot question "Who is Simba's father?") and putting in a reCAPTCHA anti-bot tool. Along with that, new members are placed into a user group called "Newly registered users", in which all posts must be approved by a moderator. Once a post has been approved by a moderator, the member will be automatically moved into the default "Registered users" group where normal permissions apply (no longer must new posts be approved by moderators). In short, until we know this member is not a bot, their posts will remain invisible to the public. New members are notified of this via the Welcome PM that every new member receives.

Hopefully this will make things more pleasant :)
