This seems interesting. It doesn't sound like it will add more substance to the remake film, but the choice of art style is an interesting question.

So here's the cover, complete with a look at the art style. Not a fan of how Mufasa is drawn (I think it's due to lack of whiskers) and the eyes on the cubs look weird since the pupils are hard to see, but it seems interesting enough overall.

simba/nala/mufasa look nothing like they do in the original or the remake :/

They look like those dreadful funko pops the remake got.

Reminds me of the art style used for the Pride of Baghdad. Not necessarily bad, per se, but not something I would think when imagining a "Lion King" comic book. Hey, it worked for Baghdad, but it's not something I would see working for Disney.
