You should not expect there to be special features. Most DVDs for children - and this is for children - don't have special features. If you want to support the show, you should still buy it. If it sells well, it could lead to more substantial DVD releases in the future that do have more special features.

But for this? Amazon merely lists a music video as its special feature.

I don't think there'll be any special features either. Special Features means getting the actors and creators back and away from production on season two to talk about the movie, digging through archives and compiling footage to use for the documentary and ultimately using more space on the disk, which all have expenses. Regardless of how many people watched RotR on TV, they won't want to make any sort of financial investment that they know may not pay back. After all, DVD sales are probably routinely going down thanks to the power of the internet.

This isn't really a classic yet and won't be for a while - so Disney probably won't feel the need to jam-pack the DVD with things they know fans will enjoy, like documentaries and deleted scenes. In fact, when's the last time they released a 2-Disc Special Edition set for something? Frozen? I remember growing up that was something I used to just expect. I had a huge amount of Special Edition DVDs. I sort of miss that trend. I love watching the BTS things.

Edited your title. Please don't post in all Caps. It's quite unnecessary.

@gothprincesskiara: While The DVD may not have what you are looking for, the questions you have could be addressed on upcoming episodes of the series.

I will of course buy the DVD the day it comes out. Because I want them to release the rest of the series on DVD as well.
