Can't Wait to be Queen book. My thoughts

So i read it recently after i bought it during my trip to Barnes and Noble. I think this may or may not be the episode where Kiara and Kion's relationship starts to get better. At least towards the end.

However, until the episode airs next Friday, i won't know for sure. The novels are usually shorter, summarized versions of the real deal so. I hope that from this episode onward, depending on what happens, that Kiara grows back into her original self that we all knew and loved (most of us anyways, i know there are Kiara haters out there). She is a cub after all, so she's got a lot to learn of course.

Regardless, who just "Can't wait" for this new episode :)?

I am also looking forward, to seeing how the episode will differ from the book. I know there will be a song in the episode, but what will it be and who will sing it.

I'm looking forward to this episode too. We've had two episodes now where Kiara, Tiifu and Zuri are absent, and I've missed them. Excited to see how it translates in animated form.

I'm a tad bit annoyed by Simba here... Leaving the entire kingdom in the charge of a young teen (at best) doesn't seem like a responsible decision, not to mention that he acts like Kion needs to listen to everything Kiara says simply because she's going to be a queen... which kinda beats the purpose of what Mufasa said 'there's more to being a king then getting your way all the time...' but oh well. This is just a show for toddlers.

Still, it will probably look a lot different when the episode airs. I can't wait. :)

Seems like it'll be a pretty good episode, can't wait to see what will differ between book and show.

I believe it's called 'Duties of the King'. It's sung by Simba and Zazu, and it's on YouTube. I think that's for this episode.

That actually makes perfect sense, Simba is reluctant to go to the funeral because he is unsure of leaving Kiara in charge of the Pride Lands. So Zazu sings that song to remind him of his duties. Thanks lelizwe.

As for Simba being unfair to Kion. Honestly The Lion Guard needs to obey their ruler, Something it would seem all of The Lion Guard grasp except Kion. Although Kion's problem is with his Sister being in charge of him, no sibling likes that. If Kiara and Kion are littermates as I suspect, I can see the situation being particularly annoying to him :eyeroll:

^ That's an interesting interpretation of the song's place in this upcoming episode. For some reason I assumed it would be Simba and Zazu singing to Kiara - I thought perhaps the 'embracing your position' thing was in relation to Kiara not looking forward to all the responsibility. But idea makes a lot more sense when I think about it. :D

Really looking forward to this week's episode now!

Yeah, but reasonable decisions made for the best of everyone, not ones like her ordering him to leave a tree she likes sharpening her claws on. But all things considered, they are both still very young.

I'm sure Simba could have found someone else to take care of the kingdom (some adult lioness from the pride, relative...), and waited a while longer before he allowed Kiara to practice ruling.

I agree that Kiara ordering Kion away from the tree she wanted to use to sharpen her claws on was in poor taste, but as you said They are both quite young, and that is the kind of things siblings do. ;)

I agree, but perhaps Simba thought that ruling during such a short trip would be good chance to give Kiara a taste of her future responsibility.Without overwhelming her. Another thing to consider is that, by Lion (and more importantly in this case Lion Guard Standards) Kiara is perhaps considered older than we are perceiving her to be. After all (and I hate to use this as an example) if Kion is old enough for Simba to have given him The Talk, :notagain: Perhaps a Lioness does not have to be as old as we think she should be to rule a kingdom.
