What Lion King video games have you played?

I own The Lion King SNES port. It's in fact one of the only seven SNES games I own. Sad..I know. It's a hand-me-down and my uncle didn't play with video games until the PS1 came out

However...Wow. That game is so hard. It doesn't even have a password feature. I've never been able to get past level 2. I've only got past the Hippos once, and even then I died once I hit the Ostrich. As of now I can't even get past the first Ostrich. My cousin almost beat it once when he was younger but due to the lack of password feature they couldn't beat it (they had to either leave or they turned it off after a few hours).

The game has super-b music though. A lot better then a lot of games from the time.

I'm thinking of getting the Jaxx Disney TV game. It has a LK puzzle on it, among other games.

Anyway, have you played any? What were they like?

On the options screen, press: B - A - R - R- Y. This brings up the Level Select Menu, which also has an Invincibility option too. :) Hurray for cheating! ^^ The Sega version has a similar cheat code, although I don't have that one memorized. :)

Now, as for the LK games I've played, I've played almost all the ports of the original TLK game for the NES, SNES, Sega Genesis, Game Boy, Game Gear, etc. For the PC, I've played the Game Break one and the Action...something or other one. lol. I have them in my collection, but of course since they are so old, they don't run very well on the newer computer systems unless you fiddle with your settings. >.> For the PS1, I played Simba's Mighty Adventure and of course for PS2, it was Kingdom Hearts 2, which given, isn't a pure TLK game but it's the closest we got for that console at least. :) I also have a sealed copy of the TLK 1 1 /2 game for the GBA but of course, I don't own a GBA nor do I want to open that copy just to play it, even though it wasn't very expensive to get, but still. ^^

Barry? Why am I reminded of Pokemon..The anime. Pearl is Pearl.

Is Mighty Adventure any fun? I've been thinking of getting it, along with some other PS1 games, but since I'm buying a Dreamcast my money's a bit short.

Pokemon...

lol, it's a decent game. ^^ Definitely worth picking up if you can. :) You can snag it off eBay for only a few bucks sealed actually, so yeah, I'd get it. :) It'll give you a few laughs as well, just from the voice overs that were used during the actual movie clips in the game. >.> Seems like Disney didn't want to pay royalties to some of the bigger name voice talents from the movie. ^^ It's also one of the few LK games out there that actually includes TLK2SP material. :)

I've played the PC version of the TLK game, an online emulation of the SEGA version (which I've sadly been unable to find again), Disney's Gamebreak!: The Lion King 2: Simba's Pride and Simba's Pride: Active Play.

Interesting how the original TLK games varied greatly in genre and some (especially the video game) required a lot of skill to complete and weren't aimed at any one particular group, whereas the SP games are all arcade and puzzle games targeted towards younger kids.

Simba's Pride has video games? I can't really find any of it.

They are mostly PC games. ^^ Like I said though, Simba's Mighty Adventure is the only one I know of that actually has gameplay based around TLK2SP, even though you still only play as Simba. lol. ^^ All the rest, like Akril stated, are puzzle and activity style games that are targeted for a much younger audience. ^^

I think the two I mentioned are the only ones. Disney's Gamebreak!: The Lion King 2: Simba's Pride features arcade games like a Pong/Breakout hybrid, a maze game similar to Pac-Man, and one game where you shoot berries at crocodiles. The fun thing about this game is the random cutscenes that pop up between levels featuring Timon, Pumbaa, Kovu, Kiara, and Zazu (though we only hear one line from Simba, and it's an off-scene growl). For some reason, Disney decided to publish each of these arcade games separately (I've got Swampberry Sling). Why they did this, I have no idea.

Simba's Pride Active Play is targeted more towards younger kids -- it features simple memory games, pattern-making puzzles, matching puzzles, plus a coloring book and some sing-along music videos. There's also that infamous collection of cubs (plus their mothers) that pops up in one of the activities.

It's not that these games aren't fun, but I would have liked to see an SP game more like the original TLK video game, maybe with levels where you alternately play as Kovu and Kiara.

I have the one for GBA. :teehee: It's fun, but there's no save option, so you have to reset each time you play.

I also remember having some games for the computer, but I can't really remember them now. :?

Oh, and who could forget Kingdom Hearts I and II? ;)
