Saw this in Google's magazine archives and just had to share it with you! It's from the December issue of Spy Magazine. They had a whole page dedicated to weird police stories. I didn't post the entire page, because some of the others stories are a bit risque. PM me if you want the link.



Keep in mind that the VHS of the Lion King wasn't released until March 1995. When I saw it myself, I couldn't stop laughing.

There sure was! My friend Crissy got her copy 2 days before the release date from the supermarket, oh man I was ready to jump her for that thing!

I DON'T think a cop would've felt quite the same way though, LOL.

How on Earth did he gets his hands on 200 bootleg copies of movies without being noticed when he stole past a hundred? Thinking about it is just mind-boggling! All I say is he was probably obsessed fan of the movie (like me ) or he tried to make a fortune off of selling copies of the movie since the movie at that time was quickly becoming the highest-grossing film of the year, and would be a hit when released on video.

I'm going to have to read the whole story!

I wonder why he would do something like that. It seems kinda dumb, even if it is for a great movie like TLK. How in the world did anyone not notice he'd bought or downloaded or gotten however many copies he did?

They were all bootlegs, the movie hadn't been released out on video yet
