Hai guise just passing this on in case anyone had missed it. The TLK trilogy is now available in HMV with their exclusive collector edition. It will set you back £65 and in return you get the TLK trilogy in a lovely wooden box with a number laser engraved into it along with engravings of characters (there are only 3000 of them available I believe, mine is 1227), you also get in addition a special edition of the TLK soundtrack score, and two discs containing TLKoB recordings and stuff =).
Finally you also get a special edition "Behind the scenes" DVD.

But yeah it is a lovely thing to buy, and if you are going to spend money on the trilogy, it is worth upgrading to if you can afford the extra £30

Considering doing an "unboxing" video of it for those interested, so be sure to check back here soon for that ^^
But if you want one yourself you should go to - http://hmv.com/hmvweb/displayProductDet ... sku=390916

Flip, you have my envy. Make that unboxing video real quick, and give it a proper review, as it deserves!

Decided to do this with pictures cause a picture is worth a thousand words (plus the quality was pretty awful) ahem, here it is in a bit moar detail and stuff. Also to reduce the size of the pictures and stuff, the quality has had to be reduced =P but yeah

Image

This is what you will find initially, the box comes in a plain black "sleeve" I guess you would call it. And here is the back.

Image

The box itself slides out, and it is made entirely out of proper wood. Everything is engraved in, from Simba to the number (yes I realise it says 3000 despite I originally said 2000, oops XD

Image

The top simply slides off to reveal the contents. Here we have the original film score which contains all the songs and instrumentals.

Image

Underneath that, a two disc copy of TLK Broadway soundtrack (If you have not listened to it, you must it is fantastic, especially "shadowlands" It also has a 2nd disc which is actually a DVD, a "Making of TLKOB" film

Image

And of course we finally come onto the films themselves. The 3D version of TLK, and the standard Blu Rays of TLK 2 and 3. TLK in 3D, is quite spectacular I always thought that 3D at home was slightly better in terms of depth and field, and this only proved that to me. It has a lot more "pop out" than the cinema version and the picture is extremely crisp, you really do have to see it.

Image

And in case you were wandering, the picture quality of TLK 2 and 3, is quite frankly something you will not believe until you see it. The quality of TLK 2, is seriously better than the original film even with the 3D turned off, the colours are blisteringly bright and there is less "slowdown" and "ghosting". I can not praise how spectacular SP looks in 1080P enough. I did take a picture of it though, but I doubt it will show much, as I said you really do need to see it especially if you are a fan! (which I imagine you are)
But it looks quite a bit like this (except a lot better!) I will link you to the picture because its bigger as I took it with a better quality camera as opposed to the old webcam.

Flip, are you sure the box set is exclusive only in the United Kingdom?

Anyway, I was considering having TLK 8-Disc Trilogy Collection box set for Christmas until I saw this. Like DGFone stated, I am very envious of you, and surprised how you can afford it. This euro-to-American dollar converter states £64.99 is equivalent to 87.63 in American dollars, while the 8-Disc Trilogy box set is around $75 on Amazon the last time I checked.

Anyway, I still getting the 8-Disc Trilogy because it's cheaper.

Absolutely, it is only available from HMV which is a UK based retailer and currently do not operate in other regions. The trilogy itself IS available worldwide, but this fancy collector edition of it is only at HMV. (I imagine in the USA Wal-Mart do stuff like this from time to time)

I was going to get the 8 disc trilogy imported at first too. But opted out when I saw this in store, reason being that I only wanted the Blu-Rays from it and the soundtracks are a decent bonus too IMO. Also the box is made out of real wood which puts the price up, plus the fact that taxes are very high in the UK especially in stuff like that that use raw materials. Also, there are only 3000 if these available in the world so I thought it would be nice to have =)

Sorry to double post but I thought this would be worth mentioning. TLK 2 & 3 are likely going to be on Blu Ray soon separately, right? And as TLK was £20, I assume they will be as well, so if you buy the three it would be £60 in total, so you pay £5 for all the extra incentives and get the films earlier ^^. Its more of an "investment" if you will, I guess.

This looks much better than the 8 disc trilogy edition available in the US.

If you plan to buy all 3. I'm only buying SP when it comes out. :P
