Since I'm playing her in an RP section here, and cause she's 2nd only to Simba of my favorite characters, I'm going to give her some recognition.

She's probably the least known, aside from some concept characters. Tama's only appearance was a comic in 2005 called "Trouble in Paradise" which was when Simba and Nala were cubs. Her design is very original compared to the typical look-a-likes we generally see. she's also among the few cubs we meet that are the same age as Simba and Nala that's as rambunctious and explorative. and I can't help but think she handled the whole being surrounded by snakes thing real well in the comic...I mean, you'd think most cubs would panic in their situation instead of

This is her comic, on DJ Coulz's website: http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d172/DJCoulz/WebsiteShit/01.jpg, http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d172/DJCoulz/WebsiteShit/02.jpg, http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d172/DJCoulz/WebsiteShit/03.jpg, http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d172/DJCoulz/WebsiteShit/04.jpg, http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d172/DJCoulz/WebsiteShit/05.jpg

I've got my own drawings of her too: http://fanart.lionking.org/Artists/Amber_Topaz/TamaCub2.png

And here's the entries to my Tama! Contest at fanart.lionking.org by Li-Li (Amb21): http://fanart.lionking.org/Artists/Li_Li_Amb21/SimbaTamaNala.png, takabsessed: http://fanart.lionking.org/Artists/Takabsessed/EarTuftsNHairTufts.jpg, and syd: http://fanart.lionking.org/Artists/syd/Tama1.jpg. there was another entry by Gabbi but it seems she left and deleted her account there.

Simba, your drawing link doesn't work!

MLK also hosts the comic here: http://www.mylionking.com/gallery/lk/comics/tama.php

They're the same pictures though :P

Tama is surprisingly original and one of my favorite characters from the comics. Unfortunately so little is known that Tama's gender isn't even known! Its never mentioned in the comic. I would guess Tama is male because his belly color doesn't ride up through his neck like a female cub's would. But thats just me.

Thanks for posting this!

well, the belly fur is higher than Simba's but lower than Nala's, her's ends under her chin. some of the lionesses, like Kiara, have their belly fur and chin fur connected. BUT the whiskers, Moka, the whiskers :innocent2: . only males have whiskers. the underfur and coloration vary depending on the lion. cause I thought Vitani was a maneless male for awhile when I was younger.... but whiskers have been a known symbol of feline masculinity in cartoons, so I'm told. there's rare images of some of the lionesses with accidental whiskers and at least one point in the stampede scene where Simba doesn't have whiskers.
Tama also has a more feminine style face, like Nala. and when Simba thinks "Stupid flowers...annoying butterflies......so what? That girl is so annoying!" Tama was the one saying "I have never seen so many beautiful flowers all at once before!" so he was saying she's annoying.

and sorry, I mistyped the link  there was a 2 there I didn't notice :P and there's a comics section? :o XD I need to explore the site more.

Ahh the whiskers I can't believe I didn't notice! You're right. Ok from the illustrations and feminine styles we can both agree that she's female :D

:innocent: ..Not sure if this was mentioned, but in the original TLK, some females do not have coloured toes. (Nala and Sarafina.) So far, no male is shown without coloured toes, so this is another indication that Tama is a girl.

actually, Chumvi has furtone toes. and Kiara has underfur colored toes. so that's not really the best basis. but the whiskers are the only evidence aside from Simba's saying "Stupid flowers...annoying butterflies......so what? That girl is so annoying!".

I forgot about Chumvi, but I was actually just talking about TLK, not SP. In TLK, the only lionesses without coloured toes are Nala and Sarafina... yeah, that was a crappy example, sorry.

I have a page about the three different presentations of cubs seen in the movies, as well as signs to tell male and female cubs apart. Use the following link to go straight to the correct paragraph:

in the 1st TLK there are random lionesses with colored toes. the miscellaneous extras vary only in color of toes, color of ear rims, and whether they're more Sarabi- or Sarafina-like.

I've been to the site and seen it already. was browsing through some stuff and came across links to it.
