Did simba try too much?

When Simba was an adult lion in TLK 2 , to me he seemed to try to be too much like his father Mufassa. And he was seeking guidence from the stars (The, 'kings of the past') From him.
But i think he tried too much to be like Mufassa instead of being his own self.
It wasnt fair for Kiara either, what do you think?

Yeah, I agree. Simba's whole life goal seemed to be living up to Mufasa's legacy. I think he did much better when he finally acted as himself... Kiara was just caught in the crossfire which was definately unfair, but she learned that she could rebel against her father so she actually got a little stronger through it all.

I also think he took Rafiki's whole lesson about the past in the wrong direction and for too long, making him fearful and overprotective of Kiara... but that's just me.

I agree, also. If he had just been himself, it would have made things easier for both Kiara and the rest of the pride.

I guess everyone has their quirks and quarks (bad physics joke).

Maybe Rafiki should have just hit Simba with the stick again... :?

I think the Pride should be reminded of Mufasa once and a while, but no King should attempt to be him. At the end of TLK2 Simba found out that Mufasa was a great, a legendary King. But he also found out that whoever he was wasn't that bad of a King himself.

I think all parents around the world should learn to let their kids off the lease a little bit, especially teenagers. It takes a village to raise a child. Let them learn by experience, not a conversation.

Isn't that what he has to learn all the way through SP? When kiara says he will 'never be mufasa' i think is when it finally sinks in....but i suppose he didn't know whoelse to take guidance from, and he idolised his father. 8-)

Lets see, he kicks some serious tale, is well learned in the ways of spirits and healing and is the only animal or person who can get away with whacking Simba on the head with a stick... Pretty good resume.
I gotta wonder what the first thing was that went through Simba's mind when he first got whacked by the stick... :?

"WTF!" lol

And don't forget he pulled on Kovu's tail. The same Kovu that was trained all his life as a killer.
