[I already mentioned this in another thread, but I figured I'd give it a proper treatment in a thread of its own.]

Six years ago, one of the artists on http://fanart.lionking.org uploaded a picture showing an excerpt from an official Disney site that featured a somewhat..."interesting" synopsis of Simba's Pride. It said that, among other things, Zira was Scar's sister and Kovu was being trained to take over the entire animal kingdom.

Well, I had a good chuckle at that, and recently, I thought I'd try checking that site out again. I figured that after six years, it must have been taken down or changed by now.

Imagine my astonishment to find out that it hasn't. The fourth paragraph is exactly the same as it was in 2004:

And this is site is part of http://disney.go.com/, "The Official Site for All Things Disney". I was so inspired by this "official" info that I created a family tree based on it.

Funny how fan theories tend to be much saner and logical than official statements (the directors of TLK saying that Nala is either Scar or Mufasa's cub, the head scene checker for SP saying that Nuka isn't Scar's son, etc.).

Somehow I question the "official-ness" of that... Especially since it's disney.go.com and not go.disney.com... And they didn't even spell Sarabi's name right

That site is soooo ful of wrongness *sues disney* But good find!
Why is Sarabi changed into Serabi all of a sudden?

I think someone made a big typo, or just doesn't know crap about these movies XD

Definitely goes to show you that just because it's "official", doesn't mean it's always accurate or true. ^^

I tried going to http://go.disney.com and I got a "Cannot find server" message. Are you sure that's a valid website? I actually tried entering that address into Google's search field and got a suggestion that read "Did you mean: http://disney.go.com", followed by a slew of sites under that domain.

The synopsis might have been written by the same person who spelled Zazu's name "Zasu" in the TLK1.5 credits, but where he/she got the idea that Sarabi/Serabi was Scar's sister-in-law and was exiled is beyond me. It makes me wonder if the TLK1.5 trivia game this synopsis is for actually has questions like "What is the name of Scar's evil sister?".

I wonder how he would go about conquering places like Australia and Antarctica... : )

Y'know, the funny thing about this summary is that expect for the part about "Serabi", it doesn't really contradict SP that much at all. Kovu isn't Scar's son, and since Zira looks so much like Scar, it makes sense that she would be his sister...although that makes her monologue about being Scar's "loving, devoted queen" in one of the deleted scenes a bit creepy. Zira's crazy, but I don't think she's that crazy...

I never said such a goal was realistic... by any means . But knowing how greedy Scar was... He'd try to steal the sun if it were all that was left.

Wereberess would have had a field day with this.
