Well, that was stated in SP as an excuse as to why 1) there were no hyenas in the movie, and 2) why Nuka and Vitani were able to enter the elephant graveyard
If the production team of SP decided to leave the hyenas in, the line that Nuka said that told us that the hyenas are gone would have been different if not removed. But if the hyenas were in the movie, it would not have made much sense as I said in my previous post.

If the production team of SP decided to leave the hyenas in, the line that Nuka said that told us that the hyenas are gone would have been different if not removed. But if the hyenas were in the movie, it would not have made much sense as I said in my previous post.
