What we got around to discussing was whether Nuka really cared that much about Scar's plans to begin with.
I mean Zira wanted to avenge Scar by way of having Kovu follow his footsteps and become king. She had his vision in mind.
As did Vitani, she had her mother's attention and such so she was fighting to fill Scar's plan (you could argue she was blindly following her mother's orders I guess).

Nuka always seemed to me like he really didn't care either way, he just wanted to prove himself to his mother and everyone else around him. As long as it made them happy with him, he would have done anything whether it tied in with Scar's death or not.

So do you think Nuka truly cared about Scar and avenging his death? There was obviously a hint of glory hunting to say the least but the question I ask is; do you think that is ALL it was?

Nuka's true intentions aren't really explored. Personally, I don't think he cared about Scar at all. He, as well as Kovu and Vitani, don't seem to know anything about Scar, aside from what Zira told them.

I personally think the only one who cared at all about avenging Scar or about his plan was Zira herself, and everyone else was just following along because she was charismatic and/or (in the case of Nuka, Vitani, and Kovu) she was their mom. I think they believed her that it was important and followed her for her.

That's pretty much what I thought as well.

He just wanted to be accepted by his mom and by that becoming a king. If he didn't die I think it would have made a new Mufasa/Scar brother against the brother conflict
